The design style is based from the 1920s

and 1930s era. The relevance has inspiration
from the Art Deco time in America and 19th
century details from South East China. Many
consumers associate the Art Deco time
period to the “Great Gatsby”. The historical
style and design between this modern piece
and antique piece are the round aproned
tops on four cabriole cut legs joined by
crossed stretchers.

The design style for these pieces are from the Victorian
style time period. The relevance has inspiration to the
Chinese Tibetan heritage by the hand painted and
lacquered storage cupboard sideboard with dragons, in
addition to the geometric patterns between the both for
structural purposes. The historical style and design
between this modern piece and antique piece are the
exquisite pieces of art furniture, the front is hand painted
and lacquered with eight ceremonial dragons, each one
is finished with sublime details, the pictures really don’t
come close to doing it justice, and the carved geometric
patterns creating a simplistic and symbolistic approach
towards the Chinese culture.

The design style for these pieces are from the

Mid-Century Modern style time period. The relevance has
inspiration to the Japanese historical influence. In
addition to the material use from the typical materials
used in Japanese furniture at that time. The historical
style and design between this modern piece and antique
piece are the materials used like canvas/suede, wood,
chrome metal piping, and ergonomic furniture design.
The overall simplistic design and modernistic approach
towards the Japanese culture makes these chairs have
influence of the mid-century modern era of chairs used
in the antique furniture and today’s furniture combined
makes a great overall design for my custom designed
space.
