LEARNING ACTIVITIES 1.1

1. Based on your own opinion, what is the meaning of Sovereignty? And how this sovereignty is
essential for a certain nation?
A N S W E R:
It is a supreme power/authority in a territory. This authority has the rights to command and to be
obeyed.

2. Explain this statement “Sovereignty resides on people and all government authority emanates
from them.”
A N S W E R:
We are in a democratic country wherein the people of the nation has the sovereignty or supreme
authority, because we are a Republican Democracy, we let the government which we elected during
election rule and organized the country.

3. Explain the collaboration of three branches of the government in policy making from
formulation to implementation.
A N S W E R:
The government has 3 branches, Legislative, Executive and Judiciary. The LEGISLATIVE BRACH was
composed of Senate and House of Representative called congress; they make, alter and repeal laws.
EXECUTIVE BRANCH has the authority to administer the law headed by the President and Vice of the
country. The president has the authority to elect and appoint officials/cabinet members for different
departments. JUDICIARY BRANCH holds the power to settle controversies involving rights that are
legally demandable.

APPLICATION ACTIVITIES

3.1 If I was given a chance to be the president and become the Commander-in-chief of the
Military, I must protect the people as well as the land of my nation. In protecting both we
have to consider the safety of the people and fight with peace.

3.2 My opinion and based on the history, Philippine is a Muslim country before it was colonized
by different countries; maybe the reason why Muslim community want to separate from the
government is to protect their culture and belief. It is only good to separate them because of
different belief to avoid misunderstanding and conflict.
