MASTER OF PUBLIC POLICY PROGRAM
AT SGPP-INDONESIA

Taught by a reputable faculty with interdisciplinary backgrounds, this

18-month, full-time program offers a unique teaching and learning
environment for young professionals from both the public and private sector,
as well as nongovernmental organization professionals who want to make a
difference in the world of policy implementation.

THE WORLD IS CHANGING

Quality policymaking and governance are
increasingly crucial factors in the search for
sustainable growth and equitable
development. At the same time, the
conditions for public policy to produce the
desired results have changed dramatically.
Contemporary policy challenges go well
beyond the traditional limits of the public
sector and the confines of the nation-state.
They range across a broad spectrum of
religious, ethnic, historical, economic, and
political variables involving an ever-larger
number of stakeholders and constituents in
the local, national, regional, and international
domains.
This situation calls for a new brand of
policymakers and leaders drawn from all
sectors of society and trained to look at the
issues from an interdisciplinary and
international perspective.

At the School of Government and Public Policy-Indonesia, leaders and

aspiring policymakers learn to:

Understand and manage the social, political, and economic dynamics

unfolding in the implementation of policies.

Go beyond technocracy and listen to what stakeholders in a policy field

have to tell policymakers.

Become a pragmatic policymaker, continually reflecting on—and

adjusting—your own practices from your experiences.

It was a privilege for me to study in SGPP because I am continually learning,

not only in class but also in life. I have the best and most inspiring faculty who
have become mentors; they provide us with the best learning materials and
classmates who have not only turned into my good friends, but also my family
here in Indonesia. Being an international student is challenging, but with the
assistance of SGPP's excellent staff, it has been a lot easier to adapt to a whole
different culture and learn a new language.

SGPP-Indonesia offers year-round admissions, with one intake per academic

year every September. Admission decisions include the following criteria:

Professional Experience and Recommendations

Development
A well-written CV* and a personal
statement essay written in English.
Academic history
All official transcripts received from
previous years spent in higher
education.
Completed professional and
academic reference forms.
Proficiency in English
Demonstrated by a minimum TOEFL
score of 550 or IELTS score of 6.5
*Candidates with two years of professional experience or
more are highly sought-after.

A number of scholarships are available in the form of full or partial tuition fee
waivers. These scholarships are limited, competitive, and only granted on a
case by case basis.
