1.0 INTRODUCTION

This report highlights on the activities that was carried out by the third party contractors which is been

supervised by the project team of wilmar Africa limited from 4 th of may 2020 to 5th of june 2020.

Currently we have four third party contractors on site that is Buckdes contractors, Amara contractors,

Asterion contractors and BZL contractors. The project team and safety team made sure the third party

contractors worked according to the standards of wilmar Africa limited . All neccessary permits that is

height permit, hot work permit and risk assessment permit was provided to the contractors before they

start working. All kinds of personal protective equipment that is personal overall , helmets, safety

googles , safety boots and safety harness was also inspected.

The activities carried out include :

• Ongoing project at refinery plant

• Ongoing project at margarine plant

• Back office extension

• Fixing of leakage issue at detergent plant

1.1 ONGOING PROJECT AT REFINERY

I Supervised a third party team known as ‘buckdes’ who has been given a contract to restructure the

outer walls of the refinery plant . Pictures of ongoing project is shown below for your consideration.

The activities carried out by the third party team include:

• Sand blasting

• Placement of purlings

• Fixing of new roofing cladding

• Painting

1.2 ONGOING PROJECT AT MARGARINE PLANT

Civil works is still ongoing by the third party contractors at the new margarine plant . We have three

contractors currently working on site that is contractors from Buckdes, Asterion and BZL. All the three

contractors have different projects they are assigned to. Asterion contractors are working on the

changing room and canteen for the new margarine plant. Buckdes contractors are working on the

production floor for the new margarine plant . BZL construction is working on the leveling of floor and

building of production room for the new margarine plant. Pictures of work done so far will be shown

below for your consideration.

Safety measures to be taken

Use of scaffold and helmet must be ensured to prevent fallen and also objects dropping from the top to

hit peoples head

BZL construction is working on the leveling of floor and building of production room for the new

margarine plant.

All pits dugged must be barricade and also put a warning sign around it.

Proper house keeping needs to be done with the safety manager also enforcing the use of hand gloves

to prevent injuries.

1.3 FIXING OF LEAKAGE ISSUE AT DETERGENT PLANT

I also supervised Amara contractors to fix leakage issue at detergent plant. The pictures below explains

how detergent leakage issue was fix by the Amara contractors.

1.4 BACK OFFICE EXTENSION

Civil works for the back office extension has been completed by the shelter matrix contractors. Their

final work is shown below.

Area needs to be barricade to prevent workers from using the bridge and also road sings needs to be

placed around to direct them to use the walk way.

Use of hand gloves and a helmet must be enforced to help the workers from hand injuries and falling

objects.

2.0 CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATIONS

I recommend that workers should take their safety measures serious and also put

in more seriousness to speed up the work.
