National Digital Library Club - School
NDLI Background
Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of
India, has entrusted IIT Kharagpur to host, coordinate and set-up
National Digital Library of India (NDLI) towards building an
integrated knowledge repository that can bridge the learning
resource gaps that exist in the country among learner
communities.

It is part of Digital India Initiative of our Prime Minister.


Vision
To build NDLI as a National Knowledge Asset that should
become the key driving force for education, research, innovation
and technology economy in India.

Inclusiveness and openness are the main mottos of NDLI.

NDLI will facilitate students to prepare for entrance and


competitive examinations and enable learners to learn from the
best practices from all over the world and adopt them.

To facilitate the engagement of learner communities in NDLI


platform in an effective manner, Virtual-cum-Physical Clubs have
been planned for schools with the objective to build an eco-
system that would bring all K-12 stake-holders (students,
parents, teachers, administrators, experts) on a single platform

Winter Internship Program - Context
• NDLI and NDLI-Club want to create awareness among the
various stake holders - school leaders, students, teachers
and parents about this initiative and how they would be
able to participate and benefit from the same

• The student ambassadors (students selected for the Winter


Internship Program) would be entrusted with implementing
the school outreach activities for the first phase launch of
NDL Club for high-school students across India
Student Ambassador Responsibilities
• Communication via mail/phone with schools to fix meetings
• Visit schools to meet the principal/administrators/teachers
and explain the concept of NDLI Club
• Conduct seminars for students of classes 10, 11 & 12 on
exam strategies and best practices for studying
• Explain the working and benefits of the NDL Club platform
• Clear student doubts and motivate them
Duration & Location of Internship

• 1 month – Nov 30 to Dec 29

• Student Ambassadors would be staying at their respective


homes and carrying out the outreach activities in schools in
the nearby area
Student Ambassador Benefits
• A chance to become a part of the National Digital Library
Club project and experience first-hand the process of
transforming the education landscape of India
• A certificate of internship
• Rs. 10,000/- as stipend plus traveling allowance
• Best performing student ambassadors will be provided with
further opportunities in the future to get involved with NDLI
Club as Mentor Ambassadors or other such similar
positions of responsibility
Who can apply?
UG students currently in their 1st/2nd/3rd year studying at the
IITs, NITs, AIIMS, AFMC or any other reputed
engineering/medical college of India with a minimum CGPA
of 6.50 (for 2nd and 3rd year students)/minimum of 75%
aggregate marks in class 12 boards examination (for 1st year
students) are eligible to apply for the Winter Internship
Program to become Student Ambassadors of NDLI Club
How to Apply?
Interested and eligible students are required to apply online by sending an email to
rajiv.agarwal@ndl.gov.in with the subject of the mail as “NDL Club Internship” along with the
following documents:

a. Updated 1 page CV (in .pdf format) with the name of the file as “CV_First name_Surname”

b. A document (in .pdf format) containing answers to the following questions (in less than 200
words each) with the name of the file as “Answers_First name_Surname”

1. What are the top 5 strategies that should be adopted by JEE/NEET 2019 aspirants in the last
few months of preparation before exams?

2. What are the top 3 ways that NDLI Club School should carry out to reach out to the maximum
number students and schools across India?
Selection Parameter – Online application
a. Prior experience of carrying out reach/publicity/sponsorship/
event promotion campaigns that involved leading/
communicating/visiting schools/colleges/institutions/corporate
houses: 30%
b. Prior experience of public speaking/debating/elocution/
presentation. Accolades/awards won in these or similar
events: 30%
c. Answer to question 1: 20%
d. Answer to question 2: 20%
Selection Parameters – Telephonic
Interview
Students who get short-listed for the telephonic round would be
judged on the following:

a. Communication & convincing skills: 35%


b. Clarity of thought and motivation: 35%
c. Management & leadership skills: 30%
