happening? What can governments do to help reduce the amount of rubbish
produced?

Today, humans are producing a lot of products related to cosmetics, electronics, food, detergents,
clothing etc. which upon complete usage are disposed and become part of rubbish. Ever increasing
population is another reason of more rubbish material. Other than increase in population, the lifestyle
of people has also a tremendous impact on the amount of rubbish produced on daily basis.

There are various ways to cope with this somber issue by individually taking some positive steps. First of
all, people should change their lifestyle and instead of using disposable cups and plates for their daily
usage people should use ceramics cups and plates. Rubbish in the form of plastic bags is also in large
quantities and is the main source of pollution as plastic does not decompose easily. While marketing,
people should rely on getting products in one package to reduce the waste of plastic bags. Moreover,
government should take steps for the production of recyclable paper made bags to reduce the rubbish.
People should avoid wasting food at home or in restaurants and government should impose hefty fines
if someone or some restaurant waste food products. In Germany, the law is strict regarding wasting
food in the restaurant. If someone fails to eat all the meal, he / she has ordered then has to pay fines for
the remaining meal.

Similarly, rely on rechargeable batteries should be more. Government should invest in the research field
pertaining to recyclable products. Plastic bottles and aluminium cans should be disposed for recycling in
order to reduce the rubbish. Government should allocate different dustbins for collection of rubbish in
order to process the recyclable material out of them. Categorization of dustbins with different colors
based on the make of waste product should be made to sort out the materials at first place. donation of
clothes should be promoted instead of throwing them in the garbage. In developed countries like UAE,
there are containers near each mosque for the donation of clothes. Such practice should be started in
developing countries to avoid rubbish related to clothes and other wearable products.

To recapitulate, rubbish can be handled by implementing different laws and spreading awareness
among common people. Both individual and the government have to work for minimization of rubbish
produced on daily basis. Use of recyclable products, disposal of waste products in categorized bins and
promoting donation of products can help reduce the rubbish in the world.
