ACTIVITY 4

BALANCING OF CHEMICAL REACTION

I. Objectives

1. To be able to balance a chemical reaction

II. Discussion

In every chemical reaction the number of atoms of each element must be the same before and
after the said reaction. This process is called Balancing of Chemical Reaction. This process always follows
the law of conservation of mass, which states that the mass is neither created nor destroyed during
chemical reaction.

III. Procedure

1. Go to the logo of the Ph Interactive Solution in the home page of our course in canvas.
2. Go to simulations and click “chemistry”. Look for “Balancing Chemical Equations” then click it.
3. Click the “INTRODUCTION”

FOR THE “INTRODUCTION”

1. Go to the TOOLS and click the “weighing scale”

2. Click the “make ammonia” below and balance the chemical reaction by adjusting the
coefficients on each compound. Write the balanced chemical reaction in the data result, and
attach the screenshot of the whole screen to the appendix.
3. Do the same for “separate water” and “combust methane”

FOR THE “GAME”

1 Go to the “GAME” and choose “LEVEL 3”

2 Balance all the 5 chemical reactions. Write each the balanced chemical reactions in the data
result, and attach in the appendix the screenshot of each attempt in balancing the 5 chemical
reaction.
