SNo Question Marks CO
i. The components of a flowing well system are the formation, tubing, choke, and
separator. Draw a series of pressure-rate diagrams showing how, under various
circumstances, each of these components control the flow rate.

Q 1 ii. A well produces from two zones with the following data provided on each: 10+15 CO1
Zone 1: PR = 2,500 psi; q = 200 B0PD when Pwf = 1,250 psi
Zone 2: PR = 1,500 psi; q = 125 BOPD when Pwf= 1,250 psi
Construct the well's IPR's, determine the interflow pressure and rates, and state the
expected producing rates for the well Pwf = 1,6XX, 1,5XX, and 5XX psi.
i. Explain with a neat diagram the operations of sucker rod pump cycle

ii. A conventional-type SRP unit has the following characteristics for its design:
Maximum polished rod load = 25,000 lb
Maximum polished rod stroke = 72 in.
Peak torque of gear box = 2,56,000 in-lb
Maximum counterbalance effect = 15,000 lb
Q2 7+18 CO2
Crank/pitman ratio = 0.25
The unit is to be used for pumping 250 API gravity crude from 3XXX ft. Plunger
sizes of 2½, 2¾, 3 and 3¼ diameter are available for selection. It is desired to
maximize the volume swept daily by the plunger with in the limitations that 7/8
inch rods be used, that the peak stress be less than 30,XXX psi, and that the
maximum downward acceleration be less than 0.4 times the acceleration due to
gravity.
