Where do you live

I live in Turin, i have been living here for 2 years, I live close to the bernini station, the
neighbourhood is called San Donato

Two weeks ago I moved into a new house, now I am living close to the Bernini station, In a small
flat

for me it has been a great experience because I have had the oportunity of learn another language
and is the first time that I live without my family

Do you live in a house or flat?

I live in a very small house in a block of flats, on the first floor, my house has 2 floors, on the first
one there are the kitchen, the bathroom and a little dining table, on the second floor is the
bedroom, I live with my boyfriend, so the bed is very big, in generall the house is very tiny but
comfortable

What is your town like?

This is a very big and industrialized city, for me the most amazing thing about the city is all its
culture and history, turin is known for its numerous art galleries, restaurants, churches, palaces,
opera houses, piazzas, parks, gardens, theatres, libraries, museums and other venues

in a residential area

i live in a very quiet neighborhood, however the house is located next to a main avenue so very
early in the morning there is a lot of noise because there is a lot of traffic

What recreational facilities are there for young people?

There are a lot of activities tha the young people can do, and I think that there are activities for
every kind of person, for example for a very intellectual person that enjoy the arte, the books,
turin has a lot of art galleris, theaters, libraries, museums. On the other hand there are also a lot of
restaurants, nightclubs and so on for the ypung people tha love the parties.

What is the most interesting part of your town ?

For me the most interesting part is the huge square located close to the po river,it is a wonderful
place at the night when all the lights are on, when I am there I feel like in other time, like in a
movie. I love go to the restaurants that are in this square, but I have eaten there just 2 times
because they are so expensive for me

Do you enjoy living here?

Yes I love live here, not just because it is a beautiful city, but also because it is a city with many
interesting oportunities for get a job, turin is a very industrialized city and here are located a lot of
beer and wine companies when I would like to work one day

Is it close to where you study?

I live very close to the politecnico, my house is located a few minutes from the metro station so I
can arrive in twenty minutes at my classroom if I use the metro

Otherwise i also can walk for 30 minutes from my house until the poli

Children who live close to the school can walk.

Where is your hometown?

I am from Colombia, my hometown is Medellin, it is localzed in the center of the country, the city
is sourranded by the Andes Mountains, because of this the city always has the same climate,
arround 20-25 celsius degree, for this reason medellin is called the city of the eternal spring

Medellin is not the capital of Colombia, However is the second-largest city of the country and is
the most important economical area. Also it is very famous for its cofee and huge varity of fruits

Do you like your hometown?

Yes I really like my hometown, in special I love the food, in each street yu can find I fastfood place
when you can eat the best hotdogs of the world, with a lot of sauce and cheese, also there are
many green areas, parks, and is possible go there and past the time with my friends, read a book,
play something. But the thing that I really enjoy is the festival of the flowers that is made every
year

Do you often visit your hometown?

Unfortunately, I have not returned home since I arrived here, , but now after 2 years I feel that is
the moment of buy a very exensive ticket and see my family again

What is your hometown like?

Medellin is a very modern city, in 2017 the city won the price as the most inovative city in the
world, the governerment during the last year has tried to improve the securiy in the street, the
education of the children, so now there are many schools and libryries in the city, in conclusion the
city is a constant development.

What is the oldest place in your home town?

The oldest place is localized in the center of the city, where is the whole historical part, in that
place is possible find one of the oldest and largest cathedrals in the region, and also there are the
scultures of Botero, a very famous artist, that represent the people in larg, exaggerated volume,
his art is about fat people

In the center of the city is located the oldest neighborhood of Medellin, the houses are large
usually and usually they have to floors

How could your home town be improved?

In this moment the most importat issues in my city are the air pollution and the security of the
streets, so at this moment my city could beimproved if the government implement more
regulations about the cars circulation, for drecrease the carbons emision, with respect to the
security, is necessary incremente the present of the policeman in the mains squares ans parks of
the cities

Has your hometown changed much since you were child?

Yes my home town has changed a lot since a I was a child, for example 15 years ago in my
neighborhood there were a lot of green space, where the child could run and play without any
problem, but now with all the development and industrallization of the city, this spaces don’t exit
more, now there are a very tall residencial buildings that ocuppied this sapces.

Do you think your hometown is a good place to bring up children?

Yes I think that nowadays the city is a more safety place, where day aftes day all the people living
there try to be better, also at this moment there are many schools and universities that are always
researching and developing new ideas to improved our life

As I say before, I live in a house with two floors, each of them just has one room, I prefer the first
floor because in this one there are the kitchen, the bathroom a dinner table and a couch, the
furnitures are very modern, in a wood color, I chose this place in the house because I love to cook,
especially I love to prepare the typical food of my country, because it is not posible found it
anywhere in Italy, generally, one time in the month i make a special dinner with my Colombian
friends to cook and have a good time together

Are you a student?

Yes, I am studying at the polytechnic of Turin, I study chemical engineering

What are you studying?

I study chemical engineering, I am making the last year of the master, I I just have to finish the
thesis and pass this exam and everything will end
i do not work, at this moment i am studying chemical engineering, but i worked two years ago, it
was in a research group at the university of my country, i worked for 3 years more or less, i had to
developed a new material, a catalyst for be more precise, this material was developed for the
treatment of the waste water of the textile indrustry.
