Introduction:
My name is Thuy Tam. I was born on the twenty fourth of january, two
thousand and three, and I’m 19 years old. I come from Da Nang- a beautiful
coastal city. Now, I’m a first-year student at Duy Tan university. My major is
software engineering.
 I like romantic movies/films.
Tet holiday or Vietnamese Lunar New year is one of my
favorite holidays so far. For me it's always the best time of the year, I like the
ambiance and I love to see the smiling faces of people during this holiday. I
feel the love that people show wherever I go and that really inspires me.
My favorite food is fish because it has many nutrients that are good for
humans
Part 1:
- Hobbies:
My most favorite hobby is listening to music. I remember hearing a song called ‘Fire’ by BTS, and that’s
the time when I was really attracted to music. I usually do this in my free time, when I’m studying, or
when I’m doing house chores. My most favorite genre is K-Pop, and whenever I like a song, I
downloaded them on my phone or laptop and put it on a playlist so that I can enjoy them everywhere.

- Neighborhood:
The neighborhood that I live in is surrounded by many green spaces such as trees and ecological parks.
In the afternoon, people often come here to exercise, admire the scenery and breathe the fresh air.
Besides, there are also schools and learning centers here. People here are very friendly and hospitable. I
love my neighborhood very much because living here is very peaceful and comfortable.

- Hometown:
My hometown is in Da Nang city. Currently I live with my parents and brother here. Although it has quite
a few tall buildings, the scenery here is still very beautiful. And my hometown is quite hot during the
day, so the evenings are the right time to have fun. During the holidays, my hometown has many
activities going on, many games are organized for everyone. The people here are very kind and friendly. I
love my hometown because that's where I was born and raised.

- Tourism:
Da Nang is a pretty famous spot for tourist when they come to Vietnam, and there are a lot of things
that we should not miss when we come here. Firstly, Da Nang has many places to visit such as Ba Na
Hills, My Khe beach, Dragon Bridge, Apec park…etc. Secondly, the cuisine here is very diverse and
attractive. We can find almost all of the delicious dishes from all parts of Vietnam like: Quang noodle,
pan cakes, pork spring rolls,… Thirdly, the landscapes outside of the busy center are also very beautiful
and peaceful, so many people like to go there for a picnic to enjoy fresh air. Da Nang can have almost all
of the things that we want, and it is a really worthy place to visit.

- Environment:

It is regrettable that Da Nang, where I’m living, is negatively affected by pollution and the major
environmental problems it is facing are water pollution, air pollution and noise pollution. There are
various reasons why this city is badly polluted. Firstly, due to modernization, more and more vehicles
such as cars and motorbikes are used. This leads to an increase in exhaust emissions and the rising level
of noise pollution. Secondly, factories and industrial zones in the city have discharged a huge amount of
untreated waste into rivers, causing death to many fish and other aquatic animals. We must deal with
this problem right away. We can do this by encouraging people to use public transportation. Besides,
those who litter should pay a heavy fine. Finally, I think the best solution is to raise awareness and
educate people to protect the environment.

Part 2:

- Describe a journey:

Last year, my parents took me to Da Lat because I completed my highschool with good grades. It took 13
hours to go to Da Lat, so we decided to go by car. It was a very long journey, but we enjoyed it. My father
stopped the car three-time at stores to buy some tea and have lunch there. We started our journey at 4
AM and reached Da Lat in the afternoon. We visited many places and wonderful natural sceneries. After
this journey, I realized there are many beautiful places to explore and enjoy life better. Our life is very
short, so don’t waste time.
- Describe a place:

Last week, my friend and I went to the Danang Fine Arts Museum together. Inside the museum is a large
variety of works, from paintings to sculptures. There are 3 floors, and each floor displays different
themes of works. The floor I like the most is the 3rd floor, which displays sculptures related to
Vietnamese history. I really admired about what Vietnamese people have created from the past to the
present. I am very proud that my city has such a large and beautiful museum. I hope to visit the museum
many more times to gain knowledge for our study.

- Describe an activity: go shopping

What I love to do in my free time costs me a big amount of money, and it is shopping. Since I was a kid,
my mother has been taking me to the markets and supermarkets with her, so I had many chances to pick
up the goods that I liked. It has gradually become my hobby without me realizing, and now I love to
spend my free time wandering in the malls and do the window shop. I love to observe and buy
everything, not just clothes or some certain goods.

The beginning of the month is my favorite time, because it is when my family goes to the supermarket to
buy necessary stuff for the whole month. I always volunteer in that activity with my mother, and we
usually spend half of a day in there. I love the feeling of going along the aisles of countless brands of
goods, choosing the best type of shampoo, or picking up the freshest fruits.

- Describe a holiday:

Last year, my parents took me to Da Lat because I completed my high school with good grades. It took 13
hours to go to Da Lat, so we decided to go by car. We started at 4 AM and reached Da Lat in the
afternoon. We had dinner, then prepare for the cam-fire at night. It’s really great. We stood around the
cam-fire and had a lot of activities such as: dancing, singing, drinking wine,… The next day, we visited a
church, bought some souvenirs, and ate a lot of food. The last day, we went to the Golden Valley and took
a lot of photos. We visited many places and wonderful natural sceneries. After this holiday, I realized
there are many beautiful places to explore and enjoy life better. Our life is very short, so don’t waste time.

House

Today I am going to share with you a description of my ideal apartment that I would like to live in. Since I
live in a big city, it is probably more convenient to buy a condo in a building complex.
I prefer a cozy place, so, I would expect it to be not too big, about 90 to 100 square meters, with 2
bedrooms and 2 balconies. In my opinion, this size is perfect for a small family of parents and one child.
When it comes to cleaning the house, you would not feel discouraged by all the chores you have to do.It
would be great if my apartment overlooked [1] a river or bridge, and it should be located
on a high floor like the 10th or above. As a person who loves color and nature, I would decorate my house
with a lot of paintings and plants. I would make a hanging garden in one of my balconies [2] and put small
chairs and tables out, so that I could sit there and enjoy my small garden. I would use yellow -tinted bulbs
and lamps all over the apartment to make it cozier.
If I got the chance [1], I would love to make my dream apartment become a reality as soon as
possible, because I have always wanted to move out of my parents’ Owning an apartment would allow me to
do whatever I want, whenever I want.

Trip
Last year, my family and I took a train journey from Danang to Hanoi. it was a very interesting journey.
we booked the train and moved very early, so while traveling, my family and I had the opportunity to
watch the sunrise. it was a very majestic and beautiful sight. Because the train moved quite smoothly,
we played cards and enjoyed the scenery together. We also made friends with other families on the
same train. When it got dark, my brother and I even fought over who could sleep in the top bunker. I will
always remember that journey
