I/ Write a letter to your family:
* Dear Dad,
I arrived in Hai Phong at 11 on Monday morning. My friend met me at the train
station and we went to her house by taxi.
I’ve stayed with Lan’s family for five days. On the first day, Lan took me to
her friend’s house near Hai Phong market. They are all very kind and friendly. The
next day was Wednesday,it was a beautifull day, the weather is cool and warm, Lan
and her friends took me to many interesting places such as Do Son beach, Bao Dai’s
Villa,.. I tried different kinds of sea foods and all Hai Phong’s specialities.I bought
some cuttlefish to bring home, and I bought you a colorful T- shirt with a dolphin on
it.Tomorrow we will go to the City park, it is about 9 kilometers from here. Lan said it
is the most beautifull park in Hai Phong.
I feel very happy and enjoy myself very much. Everyone here is very nice, and
the food here is delicous.I will leave Hai Phong at two p.m on Friday and will arrive
at the station at 5.30 p.m. Can you pick me up?

* Dear Mom,
I arrived in Nha Trang at four yesterday morning. Thanh met me at the train
station, and then he took me home by his motorbike.
Nha Trang is a quiet and beautifull city. It has a long coastline with beautiful
white sandy beaches. I went to the beach very early this morning and enjoyed the
sunrise far out in the sea. Yesterday morning, Thanh and Hoai took me to the Tri
Nguyen Aquarium. It’s very interesting to see many different kinds of fish and sea
creatures. I’ve also visited many interesting places like Cham Temle, Aquarium,
Pasteur Institute. I’ve taken part in some fascinating outdoor activities: Mud bathing,
snorkeling and scuba diving. Tomorrow, we are going to spend the evening visiting a
fishing village, where we can get a taste of the local sea food.
I feel so happy and enjoy myself so much. The people here are so nice and
friendly, the food is excellent and the sights are very beautiful. I’ve leave Nha Trang at
4 p.m on Saturday and will arrive home at 5 a.m on Sunday. Pllease pick me up at the
train station.

uniforms:
I think, it is necessary for secondary school students to wear uniforms when they
are at school, for a number of reasons
Firstly, wearing uniforms encourages students to be proud of being students of
their school because they are wearing the uniforms with lables bearing their school’s
name.
Secondly, wearing uniforms helps students feel equal in many ways, whether
they are rich or poor.
Finally, some people don’t think about clothes very much. They just like tobe
comfortable, but some are different,they are more careful with their clothes they have
to spend much time choosing their clothes. So wearing uniform is pratical. You don’t
have to think of what to wear everyday.
Therefore, students in secondary school should wear uniforms.

III/ Write an argument to persuade secondary school students should wear casual
clothes:
I think, it is necessary for secondary school students to wear casual clothes
when they are at school, for a number of reasons.
Firstly, wearing casual clothes makes students feel comfortable, They can put on
what they like as long as they look clean and tidy.when you have to wear the same
clothes as everyone else you don’t have a chance to develop personal taste in the way
you dress
Secondly, wearing casual clothes gives students freedom of choice, if they feel
cheerful, they can choose colourful clothes and if they feel depressed they sometimes
put on dark clothes. Besides they could choose sizes and fashion of clothes that they
love.
Thirdly, wearing casual clothes helps students feel more self- confident when
they are in their favourite clothes.
Finnaly, wearing casual clothes make school more colorful and lively.
In conclusion, students, particularly high school students should wear casual
clothes when they are at school , because it is more convenient and comfortable.

III. Go on a picnic:
It was a beautiful day. My friends and I decided to go for a picnic.
We took a bus to the countryside. We walked about 20 minutes to the
picnic site by the river. We put down the blankets on the ground and laid
out the food on it. After the meal, we played games and sang the songs
"What song is it?" and played the "blind man's buff". Later in the afternoon,
we went fishing in the river. We enjoyed the picnic very much. When we
looked at the time, it was nearly 6.30 pm. We hurriedly gathered things
and ran to the bus stop. We were lucky to catch the last bus, and we arrive
home very late in the evening.

TV is an importance invention of the 20th century. It has become so popular that
now we can’t imagine that life would be like if there were no TV.

It is very useful because it can be used as a source of information,a source of
entertainment,and ameans of education.As a source of information,TV provides us
with both international, national and local news.You can watch a president making a
speech or visit a foreign country or you can watch the weather forecast on T.V. As a
sourse of entertainment T.V provides more entertainment programs that can satisfy
every taste. The programs include action- packed dramas , light comedies, sporting
events and motion pictures…As a means of education, telivision viewers can see and
learn about about people, places and things in far away lands, telivision widens our
knowledge by introducing us to new ideas which may lead us to new hobbies and
recreations.Some programs such as “ the way to Olympia”, “Golden dragon”,.. are
attracted people a lot.
With these advantages, It’s not difficult for us to know why many people like to
sit at home watching TV than to go out for amusements.
VI/ Write a passage about the benefits of the Internet (p.4.4).
The internet has increasingly developed and become part of our everyday life.
The Internet is very useful because it can be used as a source of information, a
source of entertainment, and a means of education. As a source of information, The
internet is a very fast and convenient way to get information: You can get the latest
local or global news, you can check the weather conditions before you go camping, go
fishing,or you want to take part in some activities outdoor, … You can find a timetable
and maps of the buses you want to take; you can book your tickets for the next
corncert, soccer match, or replace a hotel,… As a source of entertainment, you can
listen to music, can watch videos, play games, read novels, … on the internet. Besides,
the Internet is also a great tool of education. People may connect with their teachers
from home to send or receive e.mail or talk their problems through on-line rather than
attend a class.
With these advantages, the Internet is really a marvel of the modern word. It

VII/ Write how to save energy :

Many people still believe that natural resources will never be used up. Actually. The
world’s energy resources are limited. Nobody knows exacly how much fuel is left.
However, we also should use them economically and try to find out alternative sources
of power. Here are some ways you can use less energy.
- Turning off the electricity when you go out.
- Going to school or going to work by bikes instead of by mortobikes.
- Using public buses instead of using mortobikes to advoid traffic jams and
reduce exhaust fume.
- Not turning on many lights at the same time.
- Replacing ordinary 100 watt light bulbs with energy saving bulbs.
That way you will not only save money and natural resousces but also these
household appliances will be lasted many times longer.
VIII/ Write how to save environment :
Environmental pollution is one of the most serious problems facing humankind
today.Air, water, and soil are necessary to the survival of all living things. Badly
polluted air cause illness, and even death. Polluted water kills fishs and other marine
life. Pollution of soil reduces the amount of land that is available for growing food.
Environmental pollution also brings ugliness to man’s natural beautiful world. Here
are some ways you can do to reduce our environmental pollution .

- Using banana leaves to wrap food. Plastic bags are very hard to dissolve.
- Reusing and recycling bottles and cans .
- Not throwing trash onto the water.
- Put garbage bins around the schoolyard to prevent lazy students from
throwing trash.
- Using public buses instead of motorbikes to reduce exhaust fume.
That way you will keep our environment cleaner, and our life will be lasts
longer.
