Presentation Draft for Exhibition

Topic : Danger Symbol In Chemical Laboratories

Opening : Ajeng Sukma Kumala

 Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb.

 Good Morning Everyone !
 My name is Ajeng Sukma Kumala
 I am standing here with my friends Bella, Nabiilah, and Eriscia
We are from university of MH. Husni Thamrin
In this occasion we are going to give presentation about " Danger Symbol In Chemical
Laboratories "
 Danger symbols are symbols designed to warn about hazardous materials, locations, or
objects, including electric currents, toxins, and other things. The use of danger symbols
is often regulated by law and directed by standard organizations.
 Follow this presentation to find out the danger symbols in a chemical laboratory. My
friend Nabiilah and Eriscia will show you.
Explanation 1 : Nabiilah Nurul Inayah

 Explosive : Its properties can explode in the absence of heat, sparks, shocks or friction
 Oxidizing : Oxidizing, can cause fires by generating heat when in contact with organic
matter, reducing materials, etc.
 Flammable : Chemicals have a low flame point and are flammable with bunsen fire
 Toxic : Can cause acute or chronic health damage and even death
 Harmful : Can cause irritation, burns to the skin, slimy, interfere with the respiratory
system when in contact with the skin, and ingested.
 Irritant : Can cause inflammation if contact with the skin or mucous membranes
 Very Toxic : Can cause acute or chronic health damage and even death
 Flammable Solid : Because it is unstable against heat and decomposed to produce heat
 Highly Flammable : Highly flammable materials produce extremely flammable gases
under the influence of moisture
 Extremely Flammable : Is a liquid that has a very low flash point and a low boiling point
with an initial boiling point.

Explanation 2 : Eriscia Putri Santika

 Corrosive : Ingredients and formulations with CORROSIVE notation are damaging living
tissues. Corrosive names can cause damage to the eyes, skin, respiratory system, and
more
 Nature Polluting : Hazardous materials for the environment are harmful to one or more
components in the living environment.
 Flammable Liquid : Liquid material which can trigger the absence of sparks and
flammable. Used in the transportation of flammable liquids.
 Flammable Gas : Compressed gases that when mixed with air (oxygen) and with the right
composition will form an combustible atmosphere and will be flammable
 Non Flammble Gas : Safety symbols used in the transport of non-flammable gases
 Dangerous When Wet : This generally means that it will react quite violently with water.
 Organic Peroxide: Chemical safety symbols used in the transport and storage of organic
peroxides.
 Spontaneously Combustible : Material that can be spontaneously flammable
 Marine Pollutant : Marine pollutants do not dump waste into waterways or rivers
flowing into the sea.
 Poisonous Gas : Used for the transportation of toxic gases – on gas canisters, or
sometimes as indicators on vehicles.
Closing : Bella Ayu Putri K

 Thank you, Nabiilah and Eriscia

 According to the presentation, The use of danger symbols is often regulated by law and
directed by standard organizations. Hazard symbols may appear with different colors,
backgrounds, borders and additional information in order to determine the type of hazard.
 Types of hazardous materials are classified into nine classes by the United Nations
Economic Commission for Europe, namely explosive materials, gaseous materials,
flammable liquids, flammable solids, organic azo compounds and peroxides, toxic
materials, radioactive substances, corrosive substances, and hazardous substances.
 That’s all from us. Thank you for your attention, we are apologize for any mistake we
did.
 Have a nice day!
 Wassalamualaikum Wr.Wb..
