BEGINNING YOUR JOURNEY (20 points)

Choose one of the following projects:

1. Play one of the simulation games found on the digital interactives page of this website. After
finishing the game, write 2-3 paragraphs on what historical information you learned while
playing the game. You will need to include at least 2 things you learned. Then write another
paragraph reviewing the game: was it good, well made, enjoyable, etc.? Would you recommend
it to others?

2. Create a Venn-Diagram comparing and contrasting the lives of two historically significant people
who lived during the same time period. The diagram should have at least 10 items for each
person.

3. Pick a historically significant event and create a comic book that illustrates that event. The
comic should be at least 4 pages long and have at least 8 distinct panels.
TRAVELLING ON YOUR JOURNEY (30 points)

Choose one of the following projects:

1. Choose a historical person. Imagine you are a radio personality, doing an interview with your
person. Write and then record an interview (audio only) with that person where you ask them
3-5 questions about their life. Questions should be thoughtful and not require simple answers.
You will need to script answers as if the person were answering your questions. You may play
both parts, or find a helper to play one of the roles (reading from your script). The audio needs
to be from 3-5 minutes long. Turn in a written copy of your script with the link for your audio.

2. Create an art piece (such as an illustration, painting, sculpture, diorama) in which you portray a
historically significant event. You may use an event (or events) from the life of a historically
significant person. The art piece should be complex enough to convey details about the event(s)
and will need to be done in a realistic style (not abstract). Attach a label somewhere on your art
piece (the back is fine) with your name, event, and citations.

3. Choose a historical event. Imagine you were living through that event and then write a short
story detailing what that was like from your perspective. The story will need to be at least 3
pages long.
DESTINATION FOR YOUR JOURNEY (50 points)

Choose one of the following projects:

1. (GROUP OPTION) Find a group of other students. Groups may be from 3-6 people. Choose a
historically significant event or the events in a historically significant person’s life. Write a skit
portraying that event. Every person in your group will need to have a speaking role (no one can
play objects or animals). The skit will need to be 7-10 minutes long and you will be performing it
for the class. Turn in a written copy of your script.

2. Choose a historically significant person. Create a one person play where you will portray your
chosen person. As your person, you will talk about your life, the significant events in your life,
and what it was like living through those events. You will create a video of yourself performing
your play. The video will need to be from 5-7 minutes long. Costumes and images are
encouraged. Turn in a written copy of your script with a link for your video.

3. Design and create a board or card game that portrays a historically significant event or the life of
a historically significant person. The game will need to be playable by 2-6 people and will need
to show significant events/ideas form your person or event. Attach a label somewhere on your
game (the back is fine) or have a placard or card or other means where you can list your name,
event, and citations.
