Team Project Guidelines

Deliverables
A. Slides and presentation
a. Two decks of slides: one deck for each paper
i. One paper from MDP (M papers)
ii. One paper from function approximation (A papers) or policy search (P
papers)
b. Slide format (a total of 15~20 slides/paper):
i. Title and team members (1 slide)
ii. Summary (1 slide)
iii. Detailed summary (7~15 slides)
1. Set up (2~5 slides)
2. Main results (5~10 slides)
iv. Main contributions (1~3 slides)
v. Criticism (2~3 slides)
vi. Summary and conclusions (1 slide)
c. Each team will be given 25 minutes per paper
d. Each member should contribute equally during presentation
B. Discussion
a. Each student in the audience are expected to participate actively in discussion
b. Each student will declare two papers among those that are chosen by teams;
read them to come to the presentation ready to discuss

Evaluation
A. Quality of presentation (75%)
a. Presentation (50%)
b. Q&A (25%)
B. Participation in discussion (25%)

Important Dates
You should submit your team, papers and slides to the TA (Nasrin Yousefi at
nasrin.yousefi@mail.utoronto.ca) before the deadlines below:
• Mar/20: Selection of papers for your team
• Mar/28: Selection of papers for your reading among those chosen by other teams
• Mar/28: Slides for 1st paper to the TA and cc me
• Mar/30: Presentations (all teams; 25 min each)
• Apr/4: Slides for 2nd paper to the TA and cc me
• Apr/7: Presentations (all teams; 25 min each)
