Presentation of District

Research Congress Guidelines

GUIDELINES District Research Congress
(Adopted from SDM 190, S. 2020 and SDM 177, S. 2022)
1.The DReCom shall be in-charged in the evaluation
and selection of entries for District Research
Congress.
2.All qualifiers shall prepare and submit their
Abstract in APA style with 250 to 350 words
containing with at least four key words. The
abstract shall adhere to the enclosed format.
3. Paper presenters shall do the Oral Presentation and
are required to prepare a 7-minute powerpoint
presentation with a maximum of 22 slides which shall
include the following:
• Self-introduction
• Rationale, Background, and Objectives of the Study
(Present or mention the reasons/conditions or problem
situation that led to the decision to conduct the study)
• Methods (Describe the type of research employed,
respondents, and how the study was conducted.
Instrument can also be presented here.)
• Results and Discussion (Answer the objectives
or problems of the study supported by graphs,
charts, illustrations, pictures if applicable, etc.)
• Conclusions and Recommendations (Cite final
results, discovery, or program which synthesizes
and answers the objectives. Also cite what can be
done next to improve the situation of the study)
• Acknowledgment (Show slides of faces and
names, logo of agencies that supported the study)
• Results and Discussion (Answer the objectives
or problems of the study supported by graphs,
charts, illustrations, pictures if applicable, etc.)
• Conclusions and Recommendations (Cite final
results, discovery, or program which synthesizes
and answers the objectives. Also cite what can be
done next to improve the situation of the study)
• Acknowledgment (Show slides of faces and
names, logo of agencies that supported the study)
4. The presenters shall also observe the Power
Presentation format. The presentation, aided by visual
blend, shall follow the structure:
4.1 Appropriateness of font size and type
• Sizes: 20 points (minimum) for texts and 32 points
(minimum) for title
• Type: San Serif like Arial
• Avoid ALL CAPS
• Use bullet form/outline format (elaborate and discuss in
your presentation)
• Observe “7-7 Rule” 7 lines per slide, 7 words per line
4.2 Use of contrasting colors for background
and texts
• Background-light; Texts-dark
• Background-dark; Texts-light
• Background is simple; not busy
5. Soft copies of the presentation slides must
be submitted on or before December 1, 2022
at johnflorentino.echon@deped.gov.ph and
asuncion.eala001@deped.gov.ph to avoid
technical glitches during the research
congress
6.Question and answer portion about the
study shall only be entertained after the
presentation. The panel shall have at least two
questions for each presenter.
7. Presenters must be in uniform during the
oral presentation.
8.Top 3 winners for each category will received
a cash and certificate of recognition.
Consolation prizes will also be awarded to 4th
to 10th Placer and a certificate
