The worldwide selling of various categories of digital games between

2000 and 2006 is demonstrated in the bar chart.


Overall, it can be seen that the most popular were handheld games,
while other three types of electronic games (mobile phone games,
online games and console games) were less favourable.
Furthermore, online games entered the market later, in 2001, as well
as mobile phone games, which started selling in 2002. Additionally,
all the categories exept console games had a rising rate.
The graph shows that handheld games reached their peak in 2006,
with almost $18 billion, whereas console games hit their bottom with
circa 3 billion dollars. Online games rose steadily throughout the
period given, starting in 2001 with sales being marginally over zero
and hit their peak in 2006 with just about $10 billion.
Mobile phone games hit their maximum in the same year as
handheld games and online games, in 2006, with sales being just
over 6 billion dollars. Online games and moblie phone games had the
same amount of selling money in two years, 2002 and 2004 (just
over zero and under 6 billion dollars, respectively).
