Writing Simple Sentences
Some sentences in English have just one subject and verb, and it is very important for us
to find the subject and verb in these sentences.
We should be able to do the following in sentences with one subject and verb:
1) be sure the sentence has a subject and a verb.
2) be careful of objects of prepositions and appositives when we are looking for the
subject.
3) be careful of present participles and past participles when we are looking for the verb.

This chapter has made you learned how to write good sentences in terms of how the subject and the
verb agree for one another. Besides, you are enabled not only to develop simple sentences, but also
conjoining two or more clauses with conjunctions in order that good sentences yielded. One more
thing, you need to deal with when writing English sentence is the Tenses. This verb forms might not
exist in your language; therefore, you need to put special attentions on it. In the last part of this
chapter, the tenses are brought up together. Find from various resources to cope with the following
incomplete text. Fill in the gaps with appropriate verbs and tenses.
