To Whom It May Concern,

Please accept this reference for Kyle Corry, whom I have known since June 2019. As a preservice
teacher, Kyle has demonstrated ongoing commitment to the profession and his community through
his participation in Werklund’s Service-Learning Program, a co-curricular program run in
collaboration with teachers and community leaders in Calgary and Southern Alberta. These
placements provide participants with meaningful opportunities to work with children and youth in
educational settings, and enable students like Kyle to connect their coursework to specific
experiences in community classrooms.

In Winter 2020, Kyle participated in a co-curricular placement with the Calgary Stampede
Foundation’s Stampede School, working alongside Stampede educators to support, develop, plan,
and lead activities for students in grades 1-6. As a Facilitator, Kyle helped students to experience
deep and innovative learning and make connections to their world and prior knowledge. Kyle has
also participated in regular reflective practice during his placement, enhancing his ability to make
connections between pedagogical concepts and the needs of individual students. He has also been
willing to represent the Werklund School of Education at public events, showcasing his experiences
as a teacher and reflecting on his growth in the profession.

In each of our interactions, Kyle has been positive, professional, and approachable. I believe that
Kyle will continue to contribute to the teaching profession as he enters the next chapter of his
career, and am happy to recommend him.

Sincerely,

Michael Holden, M.Ed. B.Ed.
