Interpret the following quotations in relation to human development:

“You cannot predict the outcome of human development. All you can do is like a farmer create
the conditions under which it will begin to flourish.” – Ken Robinson
In this quotation it means that we cannot stop the human development, it is unpredictable. We don’t
know what will be the outcome or the outgrowth of every human. It also stated here that what we
are doing is like farming, because, we have to be patient to see the result of what we are planting. In
other words, we just have to go with flow, explore, and learn to grow or prosper.

The personality of an individual is the product of inherited dispositions and environmental
experiences. These experiences occur within the field of his physical, biological, and social
environment, all of which are modified by the cultures of his group. Similarities of life experience and
heredity will tend to produce similar personality characteristics in different individuals, whether in the
same society or in different societies.
