2.4L Engine PCM Reprogramming for Harsh 3-2 Downshift
Vehicles may experience a 3rd-to-2nd gear shift shock when the transmission temperature is below 80°F. This
condition is related to PCM software programming. The customer may also report rpm flare when the transmis-
sion shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear in cold ambient temperatures after the battery has been disconnected and recon-
nected. To eliminate these conditions, reprogram the PCM with updated software to fix this concern.
