Aim : To design and Simulate the operation of a Schmitt Trigger circuit and show
its application as an oscillator

1. Design and simulate a Schmitt trigger using the short Channel CMOS process with VM- = 450mV and
VM+ = 750mV

Theory: Design equation

Result
Application as an Oscillator Circuit

Using this schmitt circuit, design and simulate an oscillator circuit with an output frequency of 10Mhz.

Design Equation
t1= RC ln (VM+/VM-) = RC ln(0.75/0.45) = 0.51 RC
(𝑉𝐷𝐷 −𝑉𝑀−) 1−0.45
t2= 𝑅𝐶 𝑙𝑛 = 𝑅𝐶 𝑙𝑛 ≈ 0.8 𝑅𝐶
(𝑉𝐷𝐷 −𝑉𝑀+ ) 1−0.75

0.1μ sec = (t1 + t2) = 1.31RC

Assuming R= 1.2M C ≈ 65 fF
