Question:

Given below are the four subsystems of the Earth. Choose one and explain how the subsystem affects the flow of matter
and energy on Earth

ATMOSPHERE

CONTENT

THE ATMOSPHERE THE LAYER OF GASES COMMONLY KNOW AS AIR RETAINED BY EARTH GRAVITY SURROUNDING
EARTH. THE ATMOSPHERE OF EARTH PROTECTS LIFE ON EARTH CREATING PRESSURE ALLOWING FOR LIQUID
WATER. THE ATMOSPHERE EARTH SURFACES ABSORBING ULTRA VIOLET RAYS BUT ATMOSPHERE PROTECTS US
FROM ULTRA VILOET RAYS.

EXPERIENCES

THE ATMOSPHERE CAN CHANGE CLIMATE.

THE ATMOSPHERE CAN PROTECTS US FROM ULTRA VIOLET RAYS.

THE ATMOSPHERE CAN PROTECTS US FROM GLOBAL WARNING.

REACTION

Atmospheric effects have several impacts on the solar radiation at the Earth's surface. ... local variations in
the atmosphere (such as water vapor, clouds and pollution) which have additional effects on the incident
power, spectrum and directionality.

Molecules in the atmosphere are continually moving and colliding with one another, as described by
the kinetic-molecular theory. ... As a result, absorption of light energy by atmospheric molecules can cause
photochemical reactions, reactions that would not occur at normal atmospheric temperatures in the absence
of light.

APPLICATION

The atmosphere is comprised of layers based on temperature. These layers are

the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere and thermosphere. A further region at about 500 km above the
Earth's surface is called the exosphere

Atmosphere is defined as the area of air and gas enveloping objects in space, like stars and planets, or the air
around any location. An example of atmosphere is the ozone and other layers which make up the Earth's sky as we
see it. An example of atmosphere is the air and gases contained inside a greenhouse.

The depth (distance from top to bottom) of the  atmosphere  is  greatest  at sea level and decreases at higher altitudes.
With greater depth of the  atmosphere, more  air  is pressing down from above. Therefore,  air pressure  is  greatest  at
sea level and falls with increasing altitude.
