Some people say that technology is limiting creativity, others disagree.

Our brains needed to develop before technology did for any of it to actually become reality. Not
only was the development important but things like curiosity, experimentation and imagination, better
known as creativity, were important as well. All of those things play a role in our lives that are now
surrounded by technology as our primary communication medium and the fastest source of new
information.

Among many advantages, the most diverse one is definitely the biggest source of data and
information on how to stay creative or how to become more creative. Furthermore, for the naturally
creative people, it allows them to get real time critiques from their audience. Along with that, the
suggestions encourage artists to turn a couple more creative wheels in their brain to add that something
special to their art. Lastly, technology absolutely allows everyone to get a bit creative simply by opening
a social media account and posting pictures. Not only does it spark creativity when it comes to
constructing a visually appealing social media profile but it allows each individual to create a completely
new persona.

On the contrary, many people disagree and believe technology decreases creativity. It does in
fact make us less sociable which is a huge problem in today’s society. This generation’s children will lack
basic communication skills because less social contact equals less opportunities to grow in that field.
Technology also allows everything to be seen and one of the biggest problems nowadays, especially in
the artistic community, is the lack of originality. People are giving up on thinking for themselves which
limits their perception and perspective of the world itself. Again, almost like a domino effect, the limited
perception won’t allow people to grow and develop as individuals resulting in a very narrow minded
community all because of technology.

All in all, technology isn’t good nor bad. It’s the dosage of technology that we allow into our lives
that will have good or bad effects on us and on our community. As long as the information technology
provides us is controlled and used smartly, there will not be any bad side effects. On the contrary, if
technology is consumed with little to no control, the community we built will collapse right before our
eyes.
