Chapter 1
The Problem

Introduction
The value of a teacher in a student’s life cannot be overstated. Becoming a teacher offers

endless opportunity to help all students understand and achieve their full potential. Teaching is

not only a profession with rigorous standards; it is also a calling to serve others. If you enjoy

working with children and you believe that education has the power to change lives, then you

may have what it takes to become an exemplary teacher. (Dowd, 2018)

Some people think being a teacher is less challenging compared to other professions like

being a doctor or engineer. They think teaching is quite simple, because all you need to do is talk

in front of children, read books, conduct tests and activities, and check school works. However,

what many do not understand is that the weight of the world is upon the shoulders of educators.

With morality and discipline deteriorating as technology and democracy upgrade, teachers bear

the responsibility of making sure the next generation will still be able to preserve the values that

are essential to establish a secure society. (Abello, 2019) And also they need to some teaching

strategies or methods to at least make the students more attentive and more cooperative.

Every teacher has her or his own style of teaching. And as traditional teaching styles

evolve with the advent of differentiated instruction, more and more teachers are adjusting their

approach depending on their students’ learning needs. But there are a few fundamental teaching

styles most educators tend to use: the authority, or lecture style, the facilitator, or activity style,

the hybrid, or blended style, the delegator, or group style, and the demonstrator, or coach style.

(Gill, 2013) It is some of the strategies of the teachers to improve their skills to handle or educate

the students.

Using technology is very relevant nowadays that also helps teachers. Making this devices

really helps the teacher to accomplish their task easier. Like the, desktops or laptops, projectors,

electronic whiteboard, television and etc. It is some devices that the teacher use to enhance or

enliven classroom audiovisual teaching aids. But as you can see, that devices is very expensive,

because some of the devices that is used nowadays is not provided by the school, so you need to

buy by your money, your own salary.

Teaching is one of the most rewarding professions in that it gives you an opportunity to

make an impact on a future generation. It is also extremely difficult and draining—no one with

actual teaching experience would tell you otherwise. Being a teacher takes patience, dedication,

passion, and the ability to do more with less. It is a treacherous journey often filled with just as

many valleys as there are mountains. Those committed to the profession do so simply because

they want to be difference makers.(Meador, 2019) Teaching can be really stressful, they need to

face difficulties everyday like balancing the different learning needs of students because every

student who walks through my door is different. Some struggle with math and need extra help.

Some learn really well when they read the text, and others when they listen to a lecture or when

they work the problems out on their own. Respecting expectations from school admins, because

teachers Not only do have to ensure that each student in class is learning and engaged, we also

have to make sure that we are in line with the goals of the school. Then, the recitation problems

because students complains because of the unfairly calling of the names. Because teachers calls

the name by alphabetical order, sitting arrangements, etc. (Doskocil, 2016)

But there is always a good reason to employ recitation. Because recitation is the best

way to ensure a student truly knows the material. When engaged in a recitation, there is nowhere

for

the student to hide, there is no opportunity for tricks to disguise a lack of knowledge. You either

know it or you don’t, and your knowledge–or ignorance will be evident to all. (Tefertiller, 2016)

so we will make it more fun and easy to do.

We will make a machine using materials that everyone can afford. And this machine is best

for those teachers who struggling to have a recitation for they want to keep their students focused

and engaged in the topics they are covering in class. So with the use of this randomizer in the

classroom it will create a standard and an increased level of awareness and content retention with

your students. Once students begin to realize that they may be called on at any given moment

they generally will actively improve their levels of awareness and interest. ( Olivares, 2016)

Therefore, this study helps us that the Q & Name Randomizer have the potential to be used

in educational purposes.

Statement of the Problem

The primary objective of this study is to test the hypothesis that Q & Name Randomizer

machine have the potential to be used for educational purposes.

Specifically, the study aims to answer the following questions:

1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of this machine?

2. How durable is this randomizer?

3 How effective is this machine?

This Q & Name randomizer machine have the capability to be used in educational purposes.

Scope and Delimitation

This research study aims to find out how our Q & Name Randomizer works. This machine will

be tested by our chosen teachers of San Jacinto National High school. One of them will use the

machine to test how helpful the machine will during recitations. The other one will conduct a

recitation without the use of the said machine. The test will last depending on when will they use

it to know how it works and how it can be helpful to students as well to the teachers that was

chosen for the testing.

The researchers wants to know how it can aid those respondents who are lack of equipment’s

to make their work easier. This machine can only work when it is connected in the outlet, thus, it

will not work without electricity. It works only by pushing the button on therefore it will not

function if the manipulator doesn’t exert its effort. Our machine is not easy to carry for it is big

and it is made up of heavy materials. This machine is not automatic, hence, it needs an assistance

to work properly.

Significance of the study

Education is what we need to be able to reach our dreams in life. The one who's teaching

us is our beloved teachers but this special persons suffer from difficulties in teaching.

This study will benefits the following:

This machine will be beneficial for students in recitation, since the machine will get the

names in an unordered manner that will make it fair for them.

For Teachers

This machine will help the teachers in educational purposes specifically in recitation, and

it will make the recitation more fun and exciting.

For School

The school can be benefits by this machine since it can be used by teachers and it is for

educational purposes.

This study will give knowledge and information to the future researchers who will be

interested in making this kind of machine. This study will give details on future research studies.

Definition of Terms

Randomizer - a machine that will select, assign or arrange in a random way.

- This is the kind of machine that will use for educational

purposes and also to help the users to make his/her work

much easier.

Users- a person who uses or operates something.

- In this study, the teacher and the students are the one who will use our machine and

they will test it if they are satisfied in using our machine.

Educational purposes- means in the case of a Qualified Educational Institution, Faculty or

Other Authorized Educational Licensees, purposes directly related to

learning, teaching, training, research and development that are part of the

instructional functions performed by a Qualified Educational.

- it is the main objective of our machine to be used in educational

purposes specially for teachers to reduce the hassle on their duty and to

make this fair or equal to all of the beneficiaries.

Recitation- the act of saying or repeating something out loud for an audience.

- in this study recitation is the thing that we would want to make easier and fun for the

students and also for the teachers
