Introduction
sciences, perception is the process of analyzing of sensory information within the brain. By using
one’s eye to observe, it collects the data from sense organs like eyes through the interpretation of
things, people or event made by the brain. Additionally, Cambridge Dictionary (2019) stated that
themselves. Moreover, Collins Dictionary (2019) believes that perception is the way that people
think about or the impression they have on something. We based on impression on how to judge
Everyone have their own perception be it towards things, events or group of people. And
these perceptions have an impact to the lives of they, themselves or even people whom they
perceived. It might also affect the relationship of individuals to each other. According to Saylor
Academy (2012), perception is the recognition and interpretation of sensory stimuli based upon
our memory. Our perception is important to recognize because it is the driving force behind our
reaction to things, events or people. This study wants to know if the perception towards the
The perception that the researchers gathered were based on their own real experience,
personal observation and probed carefully in the internet. These perceptions were claims made
by the students themselves and some from the teachers. The researchers then arrived to a thought

if these perceptions affected the relationship of BSA and BSBA students of Dr. Filemon C.
Some people are fond of socializing; some find it boring or lacked the enthusiasm to
socialize with others. This affects their relationship with other people. Socialize or not to
socialize, there must be a reason behind it. This study wants to know if the perception affects the
relationship of students. According to Saylor Academy (2012), the challenge with perception in
human relations is that we may not always understand someone else’s perception and/or assume
their perception is our own. This is where disagreements and other communication issues can
occur. For example, some BSBA students may think that other BSA students are arrogant or
boastful, and because of this, they might avoid them that will cause to a strained relationship.
The fact is relationship matter. Relationships with family, friends, teachers, mentors and
other supportive adults are a key factor in a student’s likelihood to succeed. By building these
strong relationships early on, students feel supported and important. Knowing they have a
support system they can rely on helps to boost their confidence and pushes them to
success, (Luna, 2015). Others may think that socializing or interacting with a student from a
different course seems ridiculous or irrelevant, why interact with students from other course if
you can already interact with your own course? Of course, having a good relationship with
students from other course is important. A positive relationship from one’s environment helps
them improve and specially communicating with their peers whom they spend a lot of time in
school.

According to American Institutes for Research (2019), students who feel connected to
school are more likely to succeed-- they have better school attendance, grades, and test scores
and stay in school longer. Building these relationships require perspectives that embrace positive
attitudes and beliefs, cultural and linguistic competence, an understanding of the needs and
vital to establish a good relationship with people around the school especially with schoolmate
Our relationships give meaning and richness to our work and to our lives. We all need a
community of people to share the joys and the struggles of organizing and making community

Table 1.1 Ranking of the Common Perceptions of BSA Students towards BSBA Students
Table 1.1 shows the ranking of the common perceptions about BSBA students. Most of
the respondent’s response is BSBA students are friendly with a frequency of twenty-five (25),
thus, it makes the response first in the ranking. The second most frequent response is that BSBA
degree program is easy. The third ranking response is that BSBA students are humble with a
frequency of eight (8) out of thirty (30) inclusive. Two (2) responses have 4.5 fractional ranks.
These are: (1) BSBA students are diligent and; (2) BSBA are inferior, and 5 responses have the
same rank (8th ), which are: (1) BSBA students are more intelligent; (2) BSBA students are
unfriendly; (3) BSBA students are more prioritized; (4) BSBA students are advance in terms of

which has an inclusive frequency of 10, is that BSA students are more prioritized. The fourth
(4th) ranking response, which has an inclusive frequency of 9, is that BSA students are friendly.
The response of “BSA students are humble” has an inclusive frequency of 8. This response has a
