Tech Admissions at IIT Goa

IIT Goa is conducting the admission process for its M.Tech program (regular category) via the
Common Online Application Portal (COAP) and will participate in the additional COAP rounds
until all seats are filled up. For details of additional COAP rounds, see
(http://coap.iitm.ac.in/index.php).

If seats remain vacant after the last round of COAP admissions, the institute plans to conduct
an ONLINE SPOT ROUND for filling up the vacant seats. Information about the number of vacant
seats (if any) will be uploaded on the IIT Goa website after the last COAP round.

All interested applicants are requested to note the following points:

● ELIGIBILITY
Persons who have already applied via IIT Goa’s M.Tech admission portal in
Category A (Regular/IIT B.tech) satisfying the eligibility criteria specified in the
advertisement and have a valid application number are eligible to register for
the spot round.

● DATES for the SPOT round: will be announced after the last COAP round

● SPOT ADMISSION PROCESS

1. Seat Availability
The number of vacant seats available in each program (category-wise) and
updates regarding the conduct of the spot round will be announced on the institute
website after the last COAP round.

2. Online Registration for the Spot round:

Candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria who are interested in appearing for the
online spot round have to register on an online portal. The registration link for
the spot round will be announced and activated after the last COAP round.

3. Phase-wise Conduct of the Spot Round

● Registered candidates will be shortlisted based on GATE score and invited to
participate in phase-wise online spot rounds in groups (of max 20 persons at a
time) via a video conferencing link for a time slot of 1 hour. (NOTE: requests for
 change of time-slots will not be entertained. It is the candidate’s responsibility to
attend the online round in the given time slots)

● Candidates present in a round will be made offers as per a priority list based on
GATE score.

● A candidate to whom an offer is made is required to immediately confirm and

pay the (non-refundable) fees of Rs. 10,000 for confirming admission to
M.Tech programme (fee payment details are appended). A time window of 30
minutes is provided within which the fees must be paid, failing which the seat
will be offered to the next candidate in the list.

NOTE: Fees can be paid via online transfer (such as NEFT/IMPS). It is advised
that IIT Goa be registered a-priori as a beneficiary for timely transfer. See fee
payment details appended.

● Document verification of all the spot round selected students will be done online
hence we request you to have your original documents at the time selection.
