Fernando's letter
Dear Ken,
In just two weeks' time I'll be with you. I cannot believe it! I'm looking
forward to staying with you and your family very much, and seeing London
for the first time. I'm very excited.
My city, São Paulo, is the biggest and noisiest city in Brasil. It is not very
good for tourists because it's more a commercial city. Also, it has a lot of
traffic and pollution. Maybe London has the same. The thing I like best here
in São Paulo is the entertainment. You can find good bars and restaurants,
which don't close until the last customer leaves.
My friend João went to London last year and he went to the theatre to see
The Buddy Holly Story, He told me it was wonderful. I'd like to see it, too.
My plane arrives at Heathrow, Terminal 3, at 6.30 am. It is very kind of you
to meet me so early in the morning! Thank you.
I very much hope to improve my English when I come to London.
See you soon and Happy New Year!
Fernando

Liliane's letter
Dear Sophie,
In just one week you will be here with me in Switzerland.I want you to
meet my family and I wilI show you my city. I hope you like it.
Basel isn't as big as London, but everything is very clean and very close to
the mountains, which are beautiful. I am worried that you'll find Basel a
little boring. It isn't as exciting as London because the streets are very quiet
after six o'clock at night. The people live in flats so they can't make a lot of
noise. There is a museum but perhaps that isn't very interesting to look
at/see/visit.
We finished school last week and I am enjoying the holiday. My family
don't speak English, so you'll practise your German a lot. I would also like
to practise my English with you.
See you next weekl I'll come to the airport to meet you.
Love Liliane

There are tenses mistakes in letters (you are here; he has gone to the theatre),
spelling (beautifuln, punctuation, word order (you will practise a lot your German),
grammar (want that you meet), -ed and -ing adjectives (excited, exciting), articles
(see you the next week), modal verbs (can no believe), missing words (Is not very
good for tourists), relative pronouns (restaurants who don't close), and wrong word
(He say me).

My letter

Dear Yuriy,

In just one day, you will be here with me in Belarus. I am so exciting about
showing you every corner of my city. I really hope you will enjoy!
My hometown is quite small, but very cozy. It has special atmosphere. In
my town there are many parks and other green zones. Unlike “concrete
jungles” of modern metropolises, my hometown is relatively clean and
quiet. Even if you live in the very center of the town, you can reach the
nearest park in five-ten minutes. So, there are a lot of places to walk and
have a rest here.
I very want you to meet my friends and family. Unlucky, they don’t speak
English, but it’s a great chance for you to practice Russian!
Looking forward to meeting you.
Love, Natasha
