The first article or provision of the Treaty of Paris states that Spain will give up
and free Cuba and shall become an independent nation. The control will be transferred
into America and Spain must understand that they had no control over government and
property rights. Yet the US will have no permanent control over the government and will

1.The Loyalty of the Filipinos
This caricature contains Uncle Sam leading little Juan to its destination and it has
accurately depicted how the Philippines follow the footsteps of America. I recall
watching a video of Nas stating that how America is the Philippines whereas we are
almost a depiction of America. The roads, buildings, stores, and malls look like America
good examples are Mc Donald's and Starbucks which are also seen in America.
2. The Returning Student
In the Philippines when one has an item that comes from the other country, he/she
is considered superior to its fellows and those who came and study from the other
country. They were treated highly because many Filipino impression is that the school
system in other countries have good qualities and only rich fellows can afford it. In the
caricature, the returning student has a huge body than those aren't which means every
returning stand out that makes them think highly of themselves.
3. Liberty, Equality, Fraternity "Liberdad, Igualdad, Fraternidad".
The caricature shows a government official demanding respect while holding two
huge guns. The government officials in our country were treated highly because they
have the power in our nation. My relatives bow to them for they have a position in
government and can grant a lot of opportunities. The poor become poorer, rich to richer
and only the powerful are the who get more power. There is only a glimpse of equalities
in opportunities in our beloved nation
