Petrel - Scaling up Stair Stepped

Grid (structural gridding)

Schlumberger-Private
1. In order to scale up stair stepped grid, create a new grid from the Structural gridding process
2. scale up vertically by decreasing the number of layers.
3. scale up horizontally by increasing the I and J increment and notice below the columns will be
decreased.

5. Once the structural grid is upscaled, the properties associated with the fine grid need to be
upscaled to the course grid as well.
6. Activate the target grid (in this case the course grid), choose the property you want to upscale
from the models tree and insert it in the process.
7. Choose which averaging method you would like to use, for example porosity arithmetic
