#1 A certain diffuser has an area ratio of 2:1. If the air enters the diffuser with
a Mach number of 0.8, pressure of 0.5 MN/m2 and a temperature of 60 °C,
compute the exit Mach number, exit velocity, exit temperature and
percentage change in impulse function.

#2. Air is discharged from a reservoir at po = 6.91 bar and To = 325 °C
through a nozzle to an exit pressure of 0.98 bar. If the flow rate is 3600
kg/hr determine for isentropic flow:
i. throat area, pressure and velocity,
ii. exit area, Mach number, and
iii. maximum velocity

#3. The pressure, velocity and temperature of air at entry to a nozzle are 200
kPa, 143 m/s and 330 K. The exit pressure is 150 kPa. What is the shape of
the nozzle? Determine the Mach number at entry and exit, the flow rate per
unit area at inlet and the maximum possible flow per unit area, assume the
flow to be isentropic.
