Re: Review, comment, and recommendation on Municipal Ordinance No.

158, s. 2019, re: an Ordinance adopting the Logo of the Sangguniang Bayan
of Caluya, Antique.

Greetings!

The Provincial Legal Office is of the opinion that:

1. The Ordinance is not contrary to the Constitution, any law, order, or

other ordinance.

2. Section 22, (a) (3) of the R.A. 7160 provides that every local

government unit, as a corporation, shall have the following power, to

have and use a corporate seal.

3. Section 22, (b) further provides that Local government units may

continue using, modify, or change their existing corporate seals.

Provided, that any change of corporate seal shall be registered the

Department of the Interior and Local Government. Hence, as long as

the requirement for changing the existing corporate seal has been

complied then it is valid.
