Spirit of Assisi @ 34

On 27 October, 1986, for the first time in history,

Pope John Paul II succeeded in bringing together 160
religious leaders from all over the world: Catholic,
Protestant and Orthodox Christians, as well as
representatives of Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism,
Judaism, Islam, African and North American animists,
Shintoism, Zoroastrianism and Baha’i. They
represented 32 Christian religious organizations and
11 other non-Christian world religions.

"Our prayer here in Assisi should include repentance

for our failures as Christians to carry out the mission
of peace and reconciliation that we have received from
Christ and which we have not yet fully accomplished.
We pray for the conversion of our hearts and the
renewal of our minds, that we may be true
peacemakers, bearing a common witness to him
whose kingdom is "a kingdom of truth and life, of
holiness and grace, of justice, love and peace".

--- Pope Saint John Paul II

ENTRANCE magpakailanman
TABLE OF PLENTY Ang Diyos na banal ang sa'yo'y humirang
Dan Schutte Pari magpakailanman, magpakailanman

Come to the feast of heaven and earth Panginoo'y sumumpa, sumpang di niya babawiin:
Come to the table of plenty Ikaw ay Pari magpakailanman katulad ni Hesus,
God will provide for all that we need Paring walang hanggan, Paring kataastaasan.
Here at the table of plenty
Koda:
1. O come and sit at my table Mula sa bayan ng Diyos ika'y pinili't hinirang.
Where saints and sinners are friends Ikaw ay Pari magpakailanman,
I wait to welcome the lost and lonely Pari magpakailanman.
To share the cup of my love
PARING PILIPINO
2. O come and eat without money
Come to drink without price Paring Pilipino, tinawag ng Diyos
My feast of gladness will feed your spirit Mula sa bayang ang daing ay lubos
With faith and fullness of life Ikaw ang larawan ng pagbibigay ng puso
Buong-buo ‘di kulang at hustong-husto
COMMUNION
THE SERVANT SONG Paring Pilipino, tapang taglay mo
Will you let me be your servant, Nakikilala mo ang ‘yong tupa sa lobo
Let me be as Christ to you; Ikaw ang pananggalang sa talim ng kasalanan
Pray that I may have the grace to Salita ng Diyos at panalangin ang sandata mo
Let you be my ser-vant, too.
Ikaw ang biyaya ng Diyos sa sambayanan
We are pilgrims on a journey, Ikaw ang awit sa labi ng Birheng matimtiman
We are trav'lers on the road; Ikaw ang liwanag kung madilim man ang buwan
We are here to help each other Ika’y Pilipino, Ikaw ay pari
Walk the mile and be-ar the load. Ika’y Pilipino, isang pari ni Kristo

I will hold the Christ-light for you

In the night-time of your fear;
I will hold my hand out to you,
Speak the peace you lo-ng to hear.

I will weep when you are weeping;

When you laugh I'll laugh with you.
I will share your joy and sorrow
'Til we've seen this jou-rney through.

When we sing to God in heaven

We shall find such harmony,
Born of all we've known together
Of Christ's love and a-gony.
