BEED 3-3

Choose at least two classification of arts that would be more interesting to elementary grades.

I think Performance Arts is the most interesting for them. As a future teacher, I want to help my
students to bulid their confidence while at their young age. I choose Performance Arts because we all
know that the children are naturally loves to act, sing, dance, and also to play. They will learn to explore
outside of their comfort zone, appraise new situations, think outside the box, express their thoughts and
ideas in a safe environment, solve problems, cope with performance and presentation fears, and build
trust and self-reliance. All of these beneficial tools can be carried through to school, social activities,
their future career, and will stay with them throughout their lives. Decorative arts is also interesting for
children. We all know that when kids make art, it promotes creativity. We also know that creativity is
extremely important for a child’s development. But artmaking at a young age has many more benefits to
kids’ physical, emotional and mental well being. They can develop their motor skill from scribbling with
markers and crayons is a skill that sets the foundation for learning to write. Holding a paintbrush,
stringing beads, and cutting with scissors all hone fine motor skills, which aids in things like learning to
tie shoes, fastening buttons, holding utensils and many more daily activities. There are more interesting
arts for children that will be develop their skills when they started to make their own style.
