CIRCUITOPERATION
Battery voltage is applied at all times from the positive
battery terminal to the ignition switch and the normally
open startersolenoidcontacts.When the ignition switch
"START"
is tumed to andthe saner clutch pedalposition
switch or the transmissionranges*it.n is ctosJ, Uuite.v
voltage is appliedto the starte;solenoidcoils.The staner
solenoid coili energize,which closesthe stanersolenoid
contacts, and banery voltage is appliea to ttre sta.te,
motor. The startermotor engagesto'crank the engine.
The direct current and volrage keeps rhe barrery fully
chargedandprovidespower to operatethe vehicle,selec-
trical systems.
The amount of direct current and voltage the generator
outputsis controlledby the voltage regulator'[f the volt-
ageregulatorsensesthat the output of the generatoris not
sufficientfor chargingthe battery,it will ground terminal
