1)How might a cereal manufacturer such as Kellogg’s use the j.n.d. for Frosted Flakes in terms
of:

Product Decision:
Kellogg’s might try to change their ingredients to make their product much
healthier and tastier.
Packaging Decision:
Kellogg’s should try to change the product size so that they can save money, but
not too much that their customers start having second thoughts regarding their
product.
Advertising Decision:
They should change their technique of approaching people through
advertisement and make small changes regarding the perception of the
consumer.
Sales Promotion Decision:
Once the sale promotion at Kellogg’s was done through a commercial to support
the event of “Star Wars” in which they used their own characters with Star Wars.

2) What products might be purchased using rational and emotional motives?

Ans: Emotions play an important role in the decision-making process of buying a


product, the marketer should use a story, relationship or friendship in their
advertisement to attract consumer to not only purchase their product but should
spread information regarding their product to other people out there.
2) What marketing strategies are effective when there are combined motives?

Ans: It is important to know the motives of your customers. It is important to drive strategies
through which the marketer can share some hidden insights with the customer. And the
marketer must know his target audience and their motives. Marketers should develop a
understand the concept of reward/incentives and try to build the connection of
audience with their product.
