Executive Summary
Bangladesh is one of the many South Asian countries that are still recognized as developing nations. However,
as recently as can be judged from the last two decades, the country has made giant digital leaps towards
welcoming web-based services. Some of the most successful ones to take advantage of the digital growth are
bKash, the country’s largest online mobile payment service provider and Pathao, an online dynamic platform
that mainly offers transportation and food delivery. Not just in Bangladesh but also in regions around the globe,
consumers are gradually becoming more and more accustomed to the idea of service sharing platforms. In spirit
of that, we would like to propose an online venue booking platform that would connect interested bookers to
potential venue sites, based on a primary and secondary selection process that filter through event types, venue
types, location, budget along with specific requirements. Or mission statement is to communicate our customers
with all information about surrounding venues to help them make the best choice. A loftier aim, or our vision,
so as to speak, is to transform the way people make memories. We envisage a seamless portal that enables
accommodation of all services required to make an event successful, at the click of a touch. A detailed description
of the venture includes facts about our proposed services and initial size of the business. A list of equipment and
office supplies are included in the operational plan. We move on to the main functioning organs of the company:
marketing, production and operation plans of Reservation.xyz, a simple name with a strong message. The brand
wants to establish booking venue as booking memories for its customers but the timeline of the marketing shows
that we wish to gradually move towards becoming a strong brand that can expand into other ventures, as we
become a household name. The production plan revolves around three components: the connecting chain
between Venues, Reservation.xyz and Bookers. After perusing through our plan, we hope you see the vast
difference between the value of flow between venues and bookers with and without Reservation.xyz as a
middleman. The Operational plan includes our ideas for location details, equipment and supplies, and the
utilization of technology. Each of these three plans will be supported with a detailed action plan and timetable.
An organizational plan and human resource management team shows how we propose to break down the
hierarchy into groups of employees. A list detailing each of the members of the management team will be
attached with a list of roles and responsibilities that they are to perform after the initiation of the company. While
we are optimistic about the feasibility of our business, there are certain risks attached to the line of industry,
especially since we are, in many ways, the first online venue booking portal company in the country. We shall
discuss those risks as well as adding methods of combating these threats. And lastly, the financial plan provides
forecasted sales revenues and expenses, and based on that, a breakeven analysis of when we may hope to generate
substantial profits. A list of performance indicators and relevant ratio analysis aid our financial assumptions.

Key Partners
The owners of restaurants and event planners will be our major partners. Besides, other logistic partners
will also be our key partners with whom we will have to maintain a very good relationship.

Satisfying all of our clients should be our first priority, so we have to manage our orders in proper ways.
Also, maintaining our websites and apps are also included in our key activities, we have to provide a very
user-friendly app to our customers so that they can easily book the providers without facing any hassle.

We will have our restaurant partners, logistic partners and event consultants as our key resources. To operate
our business, we will also need an office and a ware house to store some of our stuffs. We will collect our
name clearance certificate, patent, trade license etc.

Value Proposition
We are the first company to offer this service. On top of that, our website will let our customers to book a
hassle-free venue according to their desired features. We will also provide insightful digital guide for event
planning.

11

There will be a creating and pushing automated venue booking suggestions based on customer’s special
days data. Also, customers will earn points to get discounts on next booking upon every venue booking.
Our customers can also consult to our community management team if they feel confused or if they need
any help.

Customer segments
We will mainly target the high, high middle class and middle-class families. Also, we will serve the
corporate clients and youths as well.

We will have our own website and app so that our customers can reach us easily. For promotion we will
use the social media and the push notifications as well. Through the app and the website, customers can
also evaluate our service and can also purchase and deliver.

Revenue Streams
We will take commissions for every venue booking and for every event planner that will be hired. The
customers will have to pay to the providers through us. We will keep our part of the commission and will
give the rest to the service providers. Also, service providers who will pay us extra amount of money will
be at the top of the list of the dashboard so that the customers can look at their names first while searching.

Pricing Model

reservation.xyz has three different categories of pricing. It takes different percentage from service providers
with different price range. The following is the pricing for reservation.xyz:

Venue Category Fee Range Percentage

1 0- 30,000 15%

2 30,001-5,00,000 10%

3 5,00,001-10,00,000 5%

It is important for the service providers to perceive the cost as low as possible in order to keep the price low
for the end-users. The price sensitivity in this market is moderately high and if the end-users get service
providers for cheaper price, they will switch.

12
Social Goal
The social structure of Bangladesh has been changed as it has a booming economy. Bangladesh has a lot of
middle-class people who enjoys a stable economic life. We will try to do something that is beneficial to the
society, to the members of the society.
By delivering this service we are trying to solve some problem from the society. As we all know, throwing
an event or to invite guests at a party is a matter of self-respect and it has a social impact as well. Our target
will be that, our customers and the guests will be completely satisfied with our service. As a result, we are
fulfilling our social goal as well. So, by offering our best service we will help the people of our country as
well.

Sustainability
Sustainability is very important for any business. The market of Bangladesh is very sustainable because
people of Bangladesh spends a lot at the events. And it actually goes with the culture of Bangladesh.
Bangladeshis are more interested in doing events than the western people. So, usually they always keep the
budget pretty big in terms of throwing events.

Ethical
Customers want quick response and quick service. So, we will try to provide our best and quickest service
to our customers. Though, we will provide the service providers, but we will not be responsible if the

provider, not ours. But we surely will take the feedback after every event so that we can eliminate the bad
providers from our dashboard and offer best providers to our clients. We will help our clients in every way
possible by providing the best service providers so that they can have a perfect event.

identity of our clients will never be revealed to anybody else. On the other hand, we will be very careful in

13
Business Environment Analysis

Future Outlook and Trends

The event planning sector in Bangladesh is booming right now. People are spending way too much on
occasions like marriages, birthdays mostly. Even on small events, people spend a lot. Bangladeshis are fond
of doing multiple events on marriages as well. A couple of years back, people used to spend less on
marriages. But now, some people even manage to have 8-9 programs on their marriages. Different programs
need different type of providers as well. So, Bangladesh is a big market for event planners.

PESTEL Analysis

Political

Political situation plays an important role in terms of economic and industrial development. The political
situation of Bangladesh is unpredictable. The relation between the opposition parties isn’t good enough. As
a result, political problems or clashes, curfew takes place sometimes. During those times, the economic
sector of Bangladesh faces a lot of problems and no events or programs take place at that time, so it might
be a big problem for our business.

Economical

Bangladesh is a developing country and the economic situation of Bangladesh is becoming good day by
day. As it is improving and we, the Bangladeshis love to attend events, so, our business seems quite
profitable in the future. And as our main targets are the high, high middle class and middle-class people so
we might get big orders during the events.

Social

The population of Bangladesh is almost 165 million. Though it is a poor country but it has good number of
people who belongs to the high, high middle class and middle-class families and we are okay with it because
they will be our main targeted customers. As the overall income of the economy is changing, so it is also
changing the lifestyle of people as well.
According to the Bangladeshi culture, people of Bangladesh are fond of celebrating festivals. Some of the
big festivals are, Eid Ul Fitr, Eid Ul Azha, Pahela Falgun, Pahela Baishakh, Indipendence Day, Victory
Day etc. So, it also perfect for our business as it gives us more chance to manage more events.

14
Technological

Being a developing country, the technology sector of Bangladesh is improving rapidly. Our government is
very serious about the improvement of technology. Firstly, the government focused on using of mobile
phones. They tried their best to reach mobile phones to their citizens, as a result from the year 2005, the
usage of mobile phones started to increase.

Technological progression can be a great thing for our business as we will be connected with our customers
through internet. Also, due to the advancement of technology, it will be easier for us to improve our security
system as well.

Environment

Our business will not affect the environment at all. We will try to do every work efficiently and pollution
free as well.

Legal

The implementation of property rights is still very weak in Bangladesh. The labor and other laws are not
strictly maintained. Also, in case of doing business, certain rules and regulations have to be followed which
has been set by the government. As we are doing business, there will be a professional lawyer who will be
hired, so that we don’t face any legal problems.

15
Porter’s Five Forces

Threat of New Entrants

Threat of new entrants is high for this business. As this business is new to our country, so others might want
to start it as well. And, as there are a lot of service providers, so it will be not be that tough to start a business.

Bargaining Power of Suppliers

As we will have a lot of options, so the bargaining power of the suppliers should be low. There are a lot of
service providers in Bangladesh, so it will not be tough for use to replace the suppliers. As a result, the
supplier will not have much power.

Bargaining Power of Buyers

A perfect event needs different type of services, so, to get all the best service providers at once is not that
easy. As a result, the bargaining power of the buyers will be low. Because, it is a big problem to manage
different type of service providers individually. As a result, to avoid that hassle, the buyers will have to
accept our terms.

Threat of Substitutes

The threat of substitute is low. Consumers will not want to call different providers individually. Also, it
will be really easier and also time saving for them if they just get every type of providers at once from us.

16
Competitive Rivalry of the Industry

Our business has no existing competitor in the market. But, if some other company start this type of business
in the future, then it may lead to competition then.

SWOT Analysis

Strength

The strongest point will be that, we will be able to offer multiple type of providers together. Also, most
people use internet nowadays, so it is our advantage. Because contacting different providers from different
places is a bit hassle, so to avoid that, people can easily book their providers through online. Our app will
be easy to use, we will have our proper guidelines as well. And we will also keep their personal
information’s secured.

Weaknesses
Our small sized team might be a problem for our business and also lack of experience of the owners may
lead to big issue.

Opportunities
We can expand our business countrywide in the long run. And as government is trying their best to improve
the internet, we can take that advantage as our service is also online based.

Threats
Though we don’t have any competitors yet, but after seeing our success, people will try to start this type of
business. Also, if there is any change in government rules and regulations, we might face problem to adopt
those rules.

Stake Holders Analysis

Venues
It is important to have nicely decorated venues for an event. So, we need to keep them satisfied.

Restaurants
They can play vital role in our business, as restaurants can provide us food and venue as well.

Logistic Partners
They have to be keep updated and they can also help us by giving information about the market.

17
Event Planners
They are very important for our business. So, they have to keep satisfied and happy. They are essential for
overall distribution.

Catering service:
Food is one of the most important factors of an event. We will have our professional chefs to offer the
delicious foods at the events.

Makeup Artist

We will have our professional makeup artists who can provide the service by coming at home and can save
the valuable time of the bride.

Industry and Market Forecasts

The Economy of Bangladesh is classified into three sectors. Between them, the maximum contribution
comes from the service sector and most of the development of national economy has also been contributed
by the service sectors. A sample of ten years data of GDP from 2000-01 to 2009-2010, it is found out that
the average growth rate of service sector is 6.17%. Also, the average contribution of service sector to the
GDP is 49.33%. Over years, The GDP of Bangladesh has improved a lot.

According to ‘The Financial Express’, in future, Service sector will be the prime mover of the world
economy. Keeping with global trend, the service sector of Bangladesh has been expanding fast and
maintaining an upward trend over the years.

18
As we can see that, the service industry is doing really well in Bangladesh, therefore we can hope that,
Reservation.xyz can have an upward growth in the near future.

Description of Ventures

Mission
To provide a seamless service to the end consumers and to make people believe that they can sustain their
business through our platform.

Vision
Our vision is to grab the whole reservation-based service industry which is still untouched in the country.
Apart from this, we also want to advertise the product or service from other people or company such as
makeup artists, t-shirt seller who don’t have any portfolio yet.

Service

Bangladesh is a nice country filled with various traditions and festivals that reflect the countries unique
culture. People of all religions observe their particular festivals and other various festivals as people are
event-freak her in Bangladesh. Events can be of many kinds as in birthday party, get together party, new
year celebration, marriage ceremony, family functions etc. However, the problem is that people get
confused while asking the whole package for an event. That's why we have come up with this idea. We
believe that this market is huge and we can penetrate the market with our new service.
Our target is to serve the people with their fullest satisfaction. People can lessen their hassle using our
service which is reservation.xyz. Basically, we are a company that provides services (reservation for events)
to the customers through our website and app. We know that in order to make an event successful - makeup
artists, logistics, decorators, chefs, event planner, photographer are needed but this is really a time-
consuming task for the people. Hence, we developed our idea to give people ease with our service. People
can go to our website or they can use our app and then they will select all the things according to their
choices (such as which venues they will select for their event, who will be the photographer, chefs,
decorators etc.) for their event.
The application will be available both to Android and iOS users. The interface will be user-friendly in both
English and Bengali language and the instructions will be given clearly so that people can easily navigate
our app. Moreover, people can comfortably book all the things needed for their event from our app/website.

Size of the business

We want to form a business which is service oriented. It is completely new in Bangladesh but the potential
customers could be anyone as people like to celebrate every now and then in this country. That's why, our
target market size is pretty much huge. From a mini birthday party to a corporate gathering, people will
find ease using our app and websites. It's like all in one because customers can choose everything according
to their preference through our app. As most of the people use technologies in their day to day life, it's not
difficult for them to reach out to us though we are new in the market. So, our business penetration rate is

19
obviously high here. Our venture need seed funding because it has already crossed the pre-seed stage. Our
head office is located at Mohakhali.

Marketing Plan

Customer Analysis

For the target consumers of our brand, we will divide them into two core categorie:

a) Service Providers
b) End Consumers

Service Providers
The service providers will be the segment which will be the main powerhouse of our platform. The service
providers will include, venue providers, catering services, makeup artists, decorators, event planning
agencies, restaurants, hotels, and so on. The one commonality that all our service providers will hold is that
they will serve their consumers through our platform and they will join our platform to create their own
sales funnel. Now, we will discuss the challenges that these service providers face in the current market and
how our proposed value will help them to overcome the challenges

Challengers for Service Providers

The current market is full of crowd as well as noise. The era of social media has given everyone the
accessibility to showcase themselves in the market. However, this ‘accessibility for all ’has also brought
challenges and competition for all sorts of business entities. In terms of venue booking and other event
related services, customers get lost in the portfolios of these businesses easily. They really can’t differentiate
the offerings of several providers. Hence, they only rely on feedbacks & reviews of other customers only.
In this process, the businesses fail to showcase their PODs (Point of Differentiations) to the customers. The
mass media and the social media both are full of noise. Thus, the demand of a niche & noiseless yet a
diverse platform is now on highest priority

Value for Service Providers

At reservation.com we are focusing to offer such a platform to our service providers where they can use
our platform to successfully deliver their core value to their target customers. Also, there will always be
complementary services which will help the businesses to generate tractions by default. Also, to reduce
noise we are dividing our service providers into categories and we are providing them with catalogues for
their each of the service providers. There, they will have a subpage of their own on reservation.com.

S-T-P for Service Providers

End Consumers
As for the end consumers, we will have a multi-tier customer range. These tiers will depend on the socio
economic and demographic class and will be targeted with relevant services from our portfolio. As our
services will also have all sorts of varieties and ranges, we will concentrate on each tiers of customers with
proper care. For example, we will target the female consumers for our makeover services and will push
contents of their interest only. In this way we will have a good hold the segments and we can position our
offerings to the customers accordingly.

23
Challenges for End Consumers
When it comes to that one special day or a special moment, every person has one common trait to share and
that is to be picky, selective and rational. This is directly connected to emotion and slice of life. They want
best of everything that suits themselves. Now accumulating all the elements of a festival or an event gets
tough for everyone. If we think of a typical marriage ceremony in Bangladesh, two families need at least 5
types of service providers to make the event happen. They cannot let anything go wrong as these things
highly creates an impact on our social norms and social stigmas as well. Till now there are no solutions in
the market for the end consumers which they can solely rely on to manage all these things under a single
dashboard. That’s the challenge reservation.xyz will take on for the end consumers

Value for the End Consumers

Now that we have discussed the challenge for the end consumers, now we will see how exactly
reservation.xyz will take on the challenges for end consumers. First of all, we will let customers manage
their events in our platform in a very unique style. Customers can add service providers as needed for that
event and they can manage them from a single dashboard. Also, the customers can search for their desired
services by various filters like budget, location, availability, ratings, categories and hashtags.

Product & Service Description

Product: The App

Our core product will be the app itself which will be available on Android and iOS platforms as well as
there will be one common web platform for the app. This will give access to the wider range of users to our
product. As we have talked about our two categories of customers which are service providers and the end
consumers. Our mobile app will only be available for the end consumers on iOS and Android platforms.
The service providers will only can login through the website portal to manage the reservations. We will
also contact the service providers when they receive any order to confirm their acceptance.

24
reservation.xyz is designed to be smoothest for user of any age, kind or technical knowledge. The app is so
intuitive that anyone can surf the app for 10 minutes and can tell themselves where they can find what. This
is the best way to build a product that can be self-guiding for our users. The app resembles the brand color
and has a liquid UI/UX as well. The navigation bar of the app is at the bottom of the app where they key
segments (buttons) lies. All the actionable buttons also pop up in the bottom of the screen. The reason
behind it is ensuring more reachability for our users. In this way users can feel More comfortable when
they are using the app and specially when they are performing any action within the app. Now let’s talk
about the segments/buttons of the navigation bar:

a) Home: The most typical or common segment of any app. In Home, we have our main search bar that
allows users to search for their desired event-based service providers with a primary category filter.
After searching service providers with category filters. Besides, category, we also have some other
handful filters that can help the users to find their desired providers. Such filters are: price range,
availability, location, discounts/promo. Under the search bar, people will find the core service provider
segments which are relatively popular. Users can also compare between two service providers under
the same category through the mobile app. Also, in the home page they will find the best deals/offers
for the time and can avail them right from there.

25
b) Trending: In the trending tab, the users will see all sorts of ongoing trends that are popular among
people. Also, from our end we will push contents in the trending tab such as blogs, vlogs etc. The
trending tab will also have push contents from service providers as well. Those will be content based
advertisements. Also, in the trending section we will publish how to wikis as well.

c) Create an Event: This is one of the coolest features of the mobile app. In this tab, end users can create
an event and then can they include several service providers under that particular event. This will give
users a clear view on what they are planning for an event. Also, the service providers will have a status
bar and a progress bar to let users see what is still left to do from the service providers end. Also, we
will generate an auto task manager that will notify
the end users about the tasks that are needed to perform. The users can also share the event with their
family members and can also invite people from within the app via email, SMS, Facebook, WhatsApp
and other core channels. The best part is, a Facebook Event page will be automatically created when a
user creates an event in the reservation’s app. This is will only happen when the users connect their
Facebook profile with the app.

26
d) Calendar: This will be the event calendar tool for the app users. Here they can see all their own
upcoming events as well as the events other users invited them. They can also add an event based on
date and time right from the calendar and also can reserve a service provider on that selected data and
time range.

e) Profile: This is a typical section where the users can change their profile information like name,
password, profile picture, address, payment options and more. They can also switch between dark and
light themes from here. Also, the FAQs, Terms & Conditions and the privacy policy information will
also be available on this tab. People can also sign out or add another account in this section.

27
Service: The Smart Reserve
With our app/website as the product on the hand our main service is to crowdsource both service providers
and end users under a single platform. In this platform end users can find all the event-based service
providers and the service providers can sell and promote their services to their desired target audience
through the app. This is also a one stop event management solution both with a hub of service providers as
well as the ability to manage those services with ease. The decision making for selecting the best fit for
everyone’s precious events is the main goal of our service from reservation.xyz. To fulfill that the service
will be completely user oriented and service provider focused.

Pricing
reservation.xyz has three different categories of pricing. It takes different percentage from service providers
with different price range. The following is the pricing for reservation.xyz:

Venue Category Fee Range Percentage

1 0- 30,000 15%

2 30,001-5,00,000 10%

3 5,00,001-10,00,000 5%

It is important for the service providers to perceive the cost as low as possible in order to keep the price low
for the end-users. The price sensitivity in this market is moderately high and if the end-users get service
providers for cheaper price, they will switch.

Distribution Plan
The distribution of reservation.xyz will meet 3 key touch points.
a) Website & Mobile App
b) Direct Sales/Acquisition
c) Social Media

Website & Mobile App

The mobile app and website serve as the main distribution channel for the startup. It needs to direct people
who are looking for event-based service providers to this website via promotion.
Direct Sales/Acquisition

For the initial years, reservation.xyz will also have direct sales as the agents of it will proactively look for
people looking for event-based service providers directly to make a sale.

28
Social Media

With its unique marketing in social media, the brand will try to direct many curious minds to the website
and eventually educate them to use the service.

Advertising & Promotion Plan

Reservation.xyz conversion plan for both end-users and service providers include three steps and they are
reach, act and engage. The model will help the company to strategize its marketing activities in order to
achieve these three objectives, which will eventually convert lead into customers. But the integrated
marketing message will have to be about memories for both the service providers and end-users.

Promotional Activities: The End Users

The Race

The race is campaign that will be integrated in the pre-launch video, launch video and one below the line
campaign. The first part of the campaign will be in the pre-launch. It will feature a young student, a bride
and a businessman: three people from very different backgrounds standing in the racetrack. They are all
waiting to race for something. The next part of the campaign will be in the launch video where it will take
us on a flashback to reveal that they are all competing for the same venue because they did not know that
other service providers are available and they do not want to risk it. So, for no reason, three of them begin
to race towards the same venue. The third part of the campaign will introduce a real-life race where people
can participate cosplaying one of these three roles.

Pet Wedding & Celebrity Events

This is a hype building and relationship growing campaign. Reservation.xyz will sponsor a pet wedding,
which will mimic the reception of human wedding. This will create a sizzle around the people and increase
the reach. With the same idea in mind Reservation.xyz will also sponsor celebrity events.

Your Birthday is Now Free

This is an engaging campaign that will bank of the common trend in the country that the birthday boy has
to give treat to everyone. Reservation.xyz will host a lucky person’s birthday for free. This will engage the
audience and increase the equity of the brand.

Memory Package

After every event the company will make a video package for the event that it hosted which will promote
the service providers in return as well but mainly will build a relationship with the customers. Alongside
the video, a photo frame will be gifted from time to time as well.

Marketing Activities: Service Providers

Constant Acquisition

Service providers are like inventories for Reservation.xyz. Therefore, the brand is constantly working on
acquiring more service providers in their website in order to achieve long tail. No matter which department
you work in everyone has to contribute in this activity as much as possible via networking, negotiating
and more.

Percentage Reduce

Even though listing in our website is a zero risk for the service providers because they do not have to pay
until a booking has been made, the functionality-oriented service providers will still be hesitant to convert.
Therefore, this campaign will specially target them by reducing the percentage of the fees upon booking
for a certain amount of booking.

Recognition

For the service providers that are looking for promotion and identity rather than functionality-
Reservation.xyz has designed multiple campaigns for them. Such as, the website will have a trending
section where people can see the trending service providers and also there will be ranking based on different
variables- aesthetic, service, food quality and more. Moreover, as soon as a new venue gets listed the
channels of Reservation.xyz will feature them as the newest host of memories.

Wishes from You

The idea of wishing customers their birthday and more can be done from service providers as well.
Quite a few service providers would like to maintain relationship by sending wishes to the people they
have once hosted an event for.

Production Plan/Service Delivery Model

Service Delivery Process

Service Providers End Users

The whole process of the service delivery boils down to three components: Service Providers,
reservation.xyz & End Users. The company works as an intermediary, the service delivery process making
sure it works seamlessly as an intermediary for the delivery of value from right to left. Breaking down the
process into two separate flow:

The Process for Service Providers

The Website & The App

Perhaps the most important components of the whole business are the website and the mobile app.
Therefore, reservation.xyz will continually work on improving the experience of the website and the app
for both the service providers and end-users

Characteristics of the website & app:

• Simple & Impactful User Interface: The Company will use single color and font for most cases for
the website and the app. It will capitalize on the captivating pictures of various events to essentially
making the websites a gallery for memory.

• Mobile Compatibility: The number of mobile users in the country is extremely high and
Reservation.xyz will make sure the website works seamlessly on mobile devices

• Easy to Scan: The website will go through experiments to make sure the key messages go through
even if people just skim through it.

• Fast Load Time: Nobody likes to wait. Reservation.xyz will be loaded within 4-6 seconds to make
sure satisfactory experience.

Relationship with service providers

Even though it is intangible, the relationship with the service providers is very important for
Reservation.xyz to make sure a seamless memory hosting is done. The following are the possible hindrance
that could happen if relationship is not maintained:

• Discourage the end-users to use the website

43
• Not keeping Reservation.xyz up to date with the schedule

• Not assisting the company to better the experience

• Long lead time to confirm a booking

• Not confirming the bookings at all

Therefore, Reservation.xyz have decided to treat the “relationship with service providers” as a separate
entity in the production process.

Payment Method:

The service providers will initially be reluctant to share its revenue with the company; therefore, the
payment method has to be easy for the service providers. Reservation.xyz will provide various options for
payment. Such as: Cash, Credit Cards and Mobile Payment. But the company will make sure to make them
feel special with thank you message, occasional gifts, discount, loyalty reward, early payment reward in
order to educating them about sharing service providers.

Names of suppliers and raw materials

Service Providers

The service providers will be the main source of suppliers for our service. Our service providers are diverse
and they cover some major industry like, venues, restaurants, hotels, beauty and healthcare, fashion, food
etc. We will have our list of service providers in detail and through proper verification of their authenticity
and their service credibility. We will also segment them by their categories and will delegate teams to look
over specific categories. In this way we will have better control over all the service providers. We can also
manage a good relationship with our service providers in such way.

Marketing Agency

We also have a tier 3 marketing agency with us that can help us in content marketing by providing audio
visuals and static graphic designs. This will make our creative execution and digital media management.
They will also be looking after our outreach events. We will have Madmen Digital as our marketing agency
in regard of this. As they are robust and fast paced it will fit us as a fresh startup and will be much more
feasible for us to manage.

QC Outsourcing

As a tech-based startup quality assurance will be one of the vital things that we will be focusing on. As an
early stage startup, we will not have a separate QC department. That is why we will depend on outsourcing
in this regard. We will be putting together group of students who will be helping us in this. They will be

44
testing our app feature by feature with flexible time period. As they are students, instead of giving out
salaries, we will be giving them discounts and loyalty cards which they can to avail discounts in several
restaurants & hotels. Also, in near future if someone turns out be so good at the work, we will hire them as
part timers or interns. This will be cost effective for us. Moreover, students can give us feedback on modern
and regular trends in user experience on which we can leverage our product development.

Payment Partners

As mentioned previously reservation.xyz must make the payment as seamless as possible. We will partner
with SSL COMMERZ to ensure the efficiency of the payment method for the company. SSL COMMERZ
is a payment gateway that takes responsibility for receiving payment for online stores. Providing the
responsibility to a third party will allow the team of reservation.xyz to work on its other activities. The

Operational Plan

Description of Company’s Operation

The office of Reservation.xyz is open 5 days a week and it in fact does not have a set office hour, giving
flexibility to the employees to choose their office hours as soon as they can get their job done.
Reservation.xyz holds a team session to set their objectives and forms a team for each objective to ensure
result. The workforce in office has to make sure they are well connected to the external forces. Since the
business process happens mostly on the website, the team focuses on marketing, service provider
acquisition and website development. The day to do operations can be broken down to these categories

• Customer Success Management

• Service Provider Acquisition and management

• Marketing Activates

• Website & App Improvement

• Lead Managements

• Partnership Management

Location of the Office

The operations of our firm will be dealt under a single roof at first. It should be mentioned that this is an
initial plan; we might shift to a bigger location if it is needed. But at the moment we are keeping our
investment as minimum as possible. Since we are only providing online service and don’t need any physical
touch points, we will be using an apartment flat for our operational procedures. We have decided to rent

45
out 1800 square feet flat for our company. The address of our company as mentioned above is House #452,
Road #31, Mohakhali DOHS, Dhaka 1206. Our company is on the 4th floor of the six-storied building. We
decided to rent out our office in one flat

We have decided to pay the rent as follows.

• Advance (one time): 100,000.00

• Rent (per month): 25,000.00

We are maintaining a lease contract with our landlord to make sure that our company doesn’t face any
future problem. The main agreement we have is that we cannot be uprooted from this location within 5
years. Also, the payment details, Utility, timetable etc. are described in our contract. The reason for
choosing this particular location is that is best accessible by our partners and this apartment belongs to our
family friends, as well as in order to cut down the unnecessary cost of property for our startup.

Action Plan & Time Table

Website Execution

Reservation.xyz will officially launch in January but it will have to start working with product development
from October to launch the website in time. Our product development team has provided us with their
assumed time table for the execution of their website. The action plan is given below:

proposal for founders to review.

Risk Management Plan

Risk Associated with the Business

There are certain risks that are associated with the business model of reservation.xyz

• Struggle for service providers to adopt tech driven solution

• Seasonal demand fluctuations
• Uncertainty regarding retention
• Low switching cost for the customers
• Uncertainty regarding the consistency of service providers
• Lack of proper management from service provider’s end
• Fierce future market competition

52
Contingency & Mitigation Plan:

As of for the risk associated with the business, there can be a possibility that people are not using the mobile
app in a regular basis. In that case, customer retention will be a great problem. People in our country are
still pretty much technologically challenged. For that, we will be setting up a feasible contingency plan that
will help us to mitigate any major risk involving our core business model. If the users decrease their app
usage frequency by a massive margin, then we will go old school and we will set up an order management
team who will be 24/7 active in our dedicated CRM platform. The users will just have to take a single
action. It can be:

• A single click in our Facebook Messenger BOT

• A single tap on Website CTA
• A single tap on Facebook page CTA
• A single call in our Hotline

These actions will be received by our order management team in real time. They will then contact back to
the customers and consult them for their orders. According to their preferences they will place and confirm
the order and will send them necessary documents. After that the service providers will be connected to the
customer’s contact number. After that, service provider will call the customer and they will proceed with
the work according to their own conveniences. We will also be up for any kind of support until the service
provider delivers the whole service to the customer.

Pros of the contingency

• Low cost on technical development

• Ensuring customers’ service usage recurrence
• Reduce manual work for end user
• Reduce manual work for service providers

Cons of the contingency

• High cost in order management team

• Increased workload
• Lack of automation
• Less smooth service delivery model
• Risk in brand establishment
• Lack of content push
• No chance of in App Advertisements or, paid promotions

So, we can see that our main business model has some good upper hands. However, the contingency plan
will surely be able to mitigate massive risks in future in uncertain times.

Basically, we will provide our service through our website and app. Our main sales will happen when the
customers start reserving venues, restaurants, event planner, makeup artists or logistics using the app or
website. Our earning will be commission based. When any customer completes the payment procedure,
15% of that amount will be counted as our commission. We have shown how that commission amount
could be in the table given above.

This table shows the forecasted monthly sales revenue for 2021. Here we assume how many numbers of
reservations we can get per month of the year (213 in total). Then we put the average commission amount
from the previous table. This sums up our monthly revenue from providing the services. Along with that
we also forecast our earnings from ‘in-app promotion’. We keep it constant throughout the year and the
amount is 45000 BDT per month.
Monthly revenue = (Number of reservations of that month 15% commission from service providers on
average) + In app promotion revenue

YEAR

Figure: Projected net cash flow for the next 5 years

In 2021, our net cash flow is negative (-1748560 BDT). This means that we will spend more cash than we
take in. This is not basically our loss. As we just start our business off, it is quite common to have negative
cash flow for the first few years. This time we can support our negative cash flow with our equity or debt
funding. However, this negative cash flow will not remain over the years. We will achieve the positive cash
flow in the very next year 2022. From there, it will keep on increasing every year.

60
Sources of funds
Initially, we start our business off with 3500000 BDT. This whole amount will come from different sources.
Firstly, we, all the partners will gather 2000000 BDT in total (400000 BDT each). We will use these
amounts of money to cover the fixed expenses and complete the legal procedures required for our business.
The rest 600000 BDT will come from loans, 900000 BDT from the angel investors respectively

Breakeven Analysis
Breakeven point is the production level at which total revenues for a product equal total expense. In our
case, a breakeven point is at which our business's revenue balances out its expenses. We can show
breakeven both in units and money.

Breakeven point in units (reservation) = All expenses/Contribution margin

All expenses = 3145127
Contribution margin = Revenue per unit (reservation) - Expense per unit (reservation)
=23576.67-20.645.78
=2930.89
Breakeven point in units = 3145127/2930.89
= 1073 reservations
So, it depicts that the company needs to sell 1073 reservations to cover the expenses and go further to meet
the profit objectives.
Payback period
The payback period is the length of time it takes to recover the company's initial investment. The payback
period of Reservation.xyz is 3.9 years. That means Reservation.xyz will take 3.9 years to recover its
investment which is 3500000 BDT

Performance indicators

To measure and track progress in essential areas of a business, performance indicators play a vital role.
Performance indicators Performance indicators are a set of quantitative measures that a company uses to
analyze its performance over the time. Quantification of these indicators allows a business to measure the
effectiveness. Therefore, it is easier to understand if the company is achieving its organizational and

61
strategic goals. Ratio analysis helps to analyze the financial condition and performance of a company easily.
Current ratio, debt ratio, asset turnover ratio, return on asset, return on investment are some of the key
performance indicators.

Current ratio: It is a liquidity ratio that measures a company’s ability to pay short term obligations or
those due within one year. It is better to have a higher current ratio. 2:1 is considered as benchmark for
current ratio. It helps an investor to understand how a business can pay its short- term debt with the current
assets. The current ratio is calculated dividing total current assets by the total liabilities. The formula of
current ratio is as follows:
Current Ratio= total current assets ÷ total current liabilities
The projected current ratios of Reservation.xyz for the upcoming 5 years are enlisted in table

Current Ratio

Figure: Projected current ratio for next 5 years.

Interpretation: The graph portraits the current ratio for Reservation.xyz for the upcoming 5 years. From
the graph we can see that current ratio for 2021 is almost 25.01 which means Reservation.xyz has 25.01
taka of current asset for its each 1 taka of current liability. As we know way too higher current ratio indicates
opportunity cost for holding excess current asset. But to avoid complexity in the beginning period of the
business we are not investing in financial market. Therefore, our current ratios are increasing at an
increasing rate over the period and we have an uplifting current ratio.

62
Debt ratio: Debt ratio measures the extent of a company’s financial leverage it shows what proportion of
company’s assets are financed by debt. Potential creditors and investors are interested to know this ratio as
it shows how much borrowed fund a company is using in its operation. A lower debt ratio is better and
attractive to investors and creditors. It is calculated by dividing total asset by total liabilities. The projected
debt ratio of Reservation.xyz for the coming five years is shown in the following table.
