Media Lab 3 Write Up:

2) Using that technology, please tell me about your project. (What is the topic of your memoir? What are
the multimodal elements you plan to include in your project? What do you hope to communicate to your
reader?) –The final result of your media lab should be an audio or video recording.

For this project I plan on flipping the first song I made from a down/depressing track to super upbeat/
happy style. This is a genre I listen to all the time, but I have never gotten the chance to make a track like
this. Right now, the genre is called techno trap or hyper pop I believe. It is still very up and coming but I
am excited to try working with this style. I hope to communicate very similar vibes/ lyrics as the first
song except in a much less depressing setting. I plan on talking about my life experiences and future life
hopes just like the first track. I plan on using many metaphors and figures of speech in the lyrics as well a
jumping from different time periods of my existence just like my first track ‘lost in space’. I hope to
communicate to my reader emotions I am feeling as well as hopefully entice them to like the song.

I once again am planning on using FL studio in this project. This time around I am going to be using my
own original instrumental to accompany my lyrics for this project as oppose to last time when I used a
free YouTube beat. I used the technology for both beat making and mixing where as last time it was
primarily for vocal mixing. I found it challenging to come up with some singable major chords in the
program. I found making the drums to be easy. I am using this for my project. I am really thankful this
English class gives me the freedom to use this technology that I really enjoy. For this media lab for the
audio aspect, since I feel like talking about FL studio would be repetitive , I plan on attaching the
instrumental I created.
