Title: Sunset

Synopsis/Summary:
The woman who was a maid run from her work and found a shop during
a rainy night to stay in. The woman was so frightened but the man
comfort her and let the woman stay in his shop. As the woman explain
why did she run from her work the man was so terrified since the
woman was being harassed by the brother of señorita the woman’s boss.
As the man and the woman keep their moments together the man fell in
love with the woman without knowing its background and wants to
marry her. Their problem was they got no money to spent for their
wedding and the man’s salary was too low for it that’s why the woman
keep finding a way to have their wedding.The woman ask for the help of
her señorita since she’s so close to her and ask for it’s salary and the
señorita also offered a surprise money for their wedding. The woman
chose to accept it without the permission of the man but she’s not going
to say that that’s from her instead it will be directly given to the man.
After that the man went home and have a surprise for the woman but
he’s not going to reveal it yet. The woman keeps waiting for the surprise
but it’s not what she expected. The only surprise was a violet scarf just
like what she wore when they first met and no clue about the marriage.
Since then they became cold to each other and decided that they should
work together find a job and save for their marriage. The man chose to
let go of the woman and bring her back to the gate of darkness.
Characters :
The woman / maid – The maid of senorita who gets violated by her
brother.
The man / cobbler – A prideful man who chose to love someone she
doesnt fully know.
Senorita – A helpful woman who treats her maid as a member of the
family and help her.
Senorita’s Brother – A violent man that violate and harass the woman.
Setting:
Barranco, Shoe shop
Plot:
1.Exposition
- A ragged woman came to the man’s shop and help her.
2.Rising Action
- The man and woman fell in love to each other and decided to plan
for a marriage but they haven’t enough money.
3.Climax
- The man did not take the money offered by senorita which the
woman wants to take for their marriage. Instead, the cobbler bought the
maid a scarf as a surprise. However, the maid wanted them to be
married, not material things. She expected him to accept the money but
he let the opportunity pass.
4. Falling Action
- The woman decided to leave the man.
Reaction/Impression
It is a story about the man and the woman who fell in love without
knowing each other’s background. Second, it tells about Filipino
traditions about marriage had been tackled in the story and lastly, that
incidents in the story be possible to happen today.
