At one point or another, we have all faced interacting with someone in a different language than
our native one. Do we know that learning a foreign language can gain more benefits like making

One of the benefits of learning a foreign language is to make new friends. Nowadays,
people love to make new friends at school or university and can be online too. So, to add new
friends the communication is the key to interact and get to know each other. Making new friends
especially with people from a different country, require the knowledge thus we can easily
interact with people easily without any error or unsure. For instance, there are some apps that
people can meet or make new friends like Instagram, Whatsapp, Snapchat and others. These apps
used by all people around the world. We can make new friends instantly if we learn a foreign
language. The more we learn about different languages, the more friends we can make because
we know how to speak in their languages.

Next, learning a foreign language can make your travelling more enjoyable. We can
communicate with the local residents and make new acquaintances. Who did not love to travel to
different countries to explore new things at a new place that we have never been to before? We
will be excited to learn about their culture and their routines life. A holiday in a different country
will be easier if we master foreign languages so that all the works and planned during the holiday
smooth and avoided the mess. When we lost direction we can ask directly to the foreign and we
don’t have any problems in understanding their languages. Addition, we also are able to read the
signboard and menus in the restaurant. This will prevent us from wasting our times to understand
at picking foods and we can avoid any inconvenience to the waiter at the restaurant.
Furthermore, we are able to understand the movies and culture of the country we are visiting. For
example, when we watched the movie at the cinema, if there are no subtitles, it will be no
problem for us to understand it and we can catch up with other people.

Lastly, we can get better career opportunities in the future. According to a Confederation
of British Industry survey,74% of employers said multilingual employees were more attractive to
their organization. A foreign language can make we more attractive candidate for a new job. This
is especially true when it comes to those who are applying to multinational corporations. As
more job seekers are starting to realize that language skills could make we stand out in today’s
competitive job market, language courses are becoming more and more popular. Anyone who is
about to enter the workplace these days is understandably nervous about being able to get a good
job. In a job market full of highly qualified graduates, anything that helps us stand out from the
others is valuable. Our knowledge of another language could be the deciding factor of getting the
job over someone else.
