Instructions for Importing Kemin Rumen Protected Amino Acids

Digital Feedbank Files into AMTS™ formulation software

The Kemin 2017.amts_feedbank file located on the resources page of the USA Lysine® website contains the required
information for using Kemin rumen protected amino acids in formulating diets using the Agricultural Modeling and Training
Systems AMTS.Cattle.Professional™ formulation software.

Before importing, please search your existing feedbank for USA Lysine. It may be listed as USA Lys. If this file exists, you
need not import this additional file. In the next Cornell Net Carbohydrate and Protein System (CNCPS) update, you will find
USA Lysine identified as “Kemin USA Lysine” in the feedbank. Additionally, MetiPEARL™, Kemin’s rumen protected
methionine, will be identified as “Kemin MetiPEARL” in the next update.

To import the feedbank files, use the following directions:

1. Download the file from the resources page of the USA Lysine website to your computer.
2. Save the file into the Feedbanks folder in Documents. The folder is found within the AMTS folder in Documents, as
shown below.
a. AMTS\AMTS.Cattle.Pro\Feedbanks
3. Open the AMTS program.
a. Call up a farm and recipe of interest.
b. Click on the Feeds tab at the top of the screen.
c. Click on the My Feedbanks tab (2nd from the left). 3 columns will now appear. The column on the far right
lists all the active feedbanks. Kemin 2017 should be listed.
4. Look at the top of the 2nd column. One of the feedbanks will be listed. Click on the down arrow beside the feedbank
name. All the feedbanks will show up in the list now.
5. Click on Kemin 2017. Kemin MetiPEARL and USA LYS will appear. At the bottom of the column is a box labelled
"transfer all." Click this box.
6. Both amino acids should now appear in the ration feeds.
7. Enter the correct price per ton for each of these ingredients in the Feeds section (just back out one step from My
Feedbanks).
