You are going to see images of five cities and their landmarks. Write a paragraph
describing each city and country it belongs and the landmark shown. Use the vocabulary
from the box for the descriptions. The first one is done for you as an example. / A

un párrafo describiendo cada ciudad, el país al que pertenece y el lugar mostrado. Use

New York is a big city in the

United States (North America). It
takes thousand of visitors every
year. The city has a population of
around 8 million people. There is
a lot to see and do in New York.
You can visit the Central Park,
the Metropolian museum and
Time’s Square. In the picture you
can see the Statue of Liberty, a
monumet built between 1875 and
1986. It is 93 meters tall. The
statue is located on Liberty
Island in the Hudson River.

European city has several traditional

architectural lines a boats sailing at
full power. His architect Danish
Jorn Utzon , was ahead of his time
when designing a modernist
building
Behind the modern building you can
see a large bridge that gives it a
traditional style
 Edinburgh is the compact and
mountainous capital of Scotland. It
has a medieval old town and an
elegant Georgian new town with
neoclassical gardens and buildings.
Above the city stands Edinburgh
Castle, which houses the Scottish
crown jewels and the Stone of
Destiny, which was used in the
coronation of the Scottish rulers,
located on a hill of volcanic origin

Dubai is an emirate city in the
United Arab Emirates known for its
luxurious trade, ultra-modern
architecture and lively nightlife.
Burj Khalifa, a tower 830 m high,
dominates the landscape full of
skyscrapers. On the artificial islands
just off the coast are Atlantis, La
Palma, a tourist center with water
and marine animal parks. in Dubai
you will have the fortune to see
many obelisks around the city
