1.UPCAM Installation

1.Before installing the program, you need to insert the authorized "UPCAM" encryption
lock into your computer and ensure that the USB interface is valid.
2.Click the installation, and install it

3.Language - Choose English

4.Click next, display the installation directory selection interface, select Browse to modify the installation
directory (note: 1.upcam does not recommend installation on the system disk. The installation directory must
not have Chinese characters. Installation directory folder names are not allowed "spaces")。

5.Click next to select the component installation (all selected).

6. Create desktop shortcuts and select the corresponding processing equipment configuration.
NULL Machine:Do not select any devices for configuration
UPMILL P4:Select the UP3d milling machine P4 for configuration.
UPMILL P5:Select the UP3d milling machine P5 for configuration.
UPMILL P4 UPMILL P5:Select the UP3d milling machine P5 and P4 for configuration.

7. Click next to enter the ready installation prompt interface.

2. UPCAM User manual

2.1 UPCAM authorization

1.UPCAM needs authorization to enter the typesetting process. There is no authorization,


or the license expired software will not open the error. If the following interface appears
in the software, please refer to the encryption dog error prompt information or contact
after-sales service in time to determine the situation and upgrade the authorization
information according to the requirements.

2.2 UPCAM Manager

UPCAM Introduction to each area of the main interface.


1.Control panel and configuration: refer to“The basic information configuration ”.
2.New and Blanks:refer to “new”and“Blanks”
3.Search by order name:Show by time(refer to“history orders ”)
4.Order manager:Right-click to create a new order,Open history order, local model
entry, server model entry.
5.Order model preview area:You can browse the model where the knife path has been
calculated(Or a loaded but uncalculated model.)And the remaining material space of the
blanks.

1.Click the blanks to add some materials information.

the delete button

2.4 bulid New order

When build new order, according to different habits can have different way to build, detailed introduction
refer to the new order entry list。

2.4.1New order entry list

1.Click the new order button on the manager interface

2.Move the mouse over the order list and right-click, then click ‘new’

3.Click the button of ‘local’ (Chart. 1), click ‘browse’ to find the file you want to process (Chart. 2), and
double-click to open it to pop up the dialog box of new order (Chart. 3).

2.4.2 Creating Orders

Create & Edit orders

1. Device management:You can select the devices
2. Material type selection:Select the type of material to be processed
3. Blank type selection:Clients can choose the material type and material thickness
4. Orders information:
Order information area automatically identifies the blank material type, blank color and blank template
after selecting the blank.
Customer custom fill in the order item name, select the milling machine, material magnification, blank
ID,while
the batch of blanks can be filled or not filled
A. Name:fill the name of case(The system defaults by time).
B. Type:Default is custom.
C. Material:The blank material has been determined when the new blank is created.
D. Color:The color of the blank has been determined when the new blank is created.
E. Template:The software automatically identifies the blank template without manual selection.
F. Blank ID:This information can be filled in or not
G. Batch ID of blanks:This information can be filled in or not
H. Magnification: Fill in the zoom ratio of the material.

2.5 Open historical order

1. Find the order you want to open in the order management area and double click to open.

2. Find historical orders in the category query area

2.6 Orders management right button functions

1.Create an order.
2.Reset the current order to the toolpath before it is generated,and Marks generated by all toolpaths in the
current order are cleared.
3.Delete the currently selected order.
4.You can use the open export directory to open the directory generated by the toolpath
if the current order already has a toolpath generated.

2.7.1 Model lists

When the layout loads the model, the model list shows the information for each case.
1.Model name.
2.Model layout status a. Position b. Neck c. Connecting bar. When one of the states of the model has an
error, the green √ will turn into a red ×.
3.Whether the model is locked.
4.Model height and work needs to be highly viewed.
5.Model type selection.

Right click function

1.Open source file: Open the import directory of model data.


2.Open the NC folder: you can find the directory where the NC file is located.
3.Delete: Delete the currently selected model.

2.7.2 Orders information area

This area displays information about the current order.

2.7.3 View area

1.This area can select 6 view faces to view the layout.

2.Click will pop up(figure 1),In this window, you can adjust the transparency of the blank, design
body, PIN, neckline, milling area, sintered bar, fixture, and coordinates to view the layout.

2.7.4 Accessory area and tool editing area

Model addition tool

The main function of this button is to add model data.


Click "Add Model", the following interface pops up, find the data you want to type in the disk directory
on the left, then double-click to load, you need to select the type corresponding to the tooth data after
loading, and then click √ confirm to complete the addition.

Adjust basic setup tool

Click Adjust basic set up, the tool edit zone will display the part of the order
information as below picture.

4.Reserved space setting

Margin line adjustment tool

The main function is to add, adjust, delete and define the margin line. Click Margin
line adjust, the tool edit zone will display below interface:

一、Methods of adding new margin line

1. One-point generate
Click one-point generation button and click on the margin line position of the model,
the margin line will automatically generate

2.Multi-points generate
Click Control points generate button, click on the margin line, there will be an red
point on it, then move the mouse with green drag line along the margin line and add
mark point, finally click on the first point to finish.

3.Control points generate
Add new margin line by adding 3 points or above on the margin line with one
direction.

4.Draw generate

Click on the inner cavity of the model to add new margin line

二、Adjust margin line

1. Control Points Dragging


After adding the margin line, click Control Points Dragging the margin line will
display control points, drag it with left button holding and move to the position you
want.

2. Drawing line adjust

三、Delete

When the margin line of the model is recognized as abnormal, click Delete button to
delete the selected margin line

四、Define the margin line

The margin line which are already recognized can be defined as:
1.The top margin line
2.The middle margin line
3.The bottom margin line

Adjust insertion direction

The main function is to adjust the insertion direction of the model


Click Adjust insertion direction, the tool edit zoon will display below interface:

Pin posture adjustment

In this step, you can add ,edit, and delete pin bar.
Click "Pin posture adjustment", the tool editing area will pop up the following
interface

Pin delete button


Left click the pin you want to delete, and then click the "pin delete button" to delete
the pin.

Pin modification

Click to select the pin you want to modify, press "Ctrl" button and roll the wheel to
change the pin radius.
Click and drag the pin to change the position of the pin.

Ⅱ.Pin setting

1. Set the pin type (cylinder/Taper), the taper type can set the radius of the pin head

end and the tail end at the same time.


2. Set the radius of the pin.
3. Set the pin's Cut-D (cutting depth).

Sintering rob adjustment button

Add, delete, and modify settings for the sintering rod.


Click the “sintering rod posture adjustment button”, the following interface will pop
up in the tool editing area.

Ⅰ.Drops editing

Add drop
Click on the "Add" button, then left click on the teeth where you want to create the
sintering rod (buccal side) and add it.

Delete drop
Click to select the sintering rod that needs to be removed, and then click the delete
button to realize the function of deleting the sintering rod.

Drop modification
Click to select the sintering rod that needs to be modified, press and hold the keyboard
"ctrl" button and slide the wheel to change the radius of the sintering rod.
Click on the sintering rod without releasing it. Move the mouse to change the position
of the sintering rod.

Second, the Drop diameter setting

The customer can set the diameter of the sintering rod.

Sintering frame setting

Click “sintering frame setting”, the tool editing area will pop up the following
interface

1. Set whether the middle of the sintering frame is hollowed out.
2. Set the wall thickness of the sintering frame.
3. Set the thickness of the sintering frame base.
4. Set the expansion width of the sintering frame.
5. Set the thickness of the support plate.
6. Choose concave milling or convex milling.

Tool Path Generation

Click “Tool Path Generation” and the tool editing area will pop up the following
interface.

1. Select the tool type (2+1/2+1+0.6).
2. Select the generation quality (standard/fast/fine).
3. Select the tool path to generate.

Generate a toolpath for the currently selected design.

Generate a toolpath for the design selected by the current left list.

Generate tools for all designs.

2.8 Error Message

1. The dongle does not recognize, expire, and other error messages.
2. Error message encountered when loading the model。
3. The error message encountered when editing the model.
4. Error message encountered when generating the tool path.

2.8.1 dongle error message

First, no dongle is inserted

When you open the CAM software, the above image pops up. Please click "ok" to
open the dongle management.

After opening the dongle management, if the prompt "This machine does not insert
the dongle",may be for the following reasons:
1. No dongle is inserted.
2. USB cannot be recognized by the computer.
3. The computer usb interface can not recognize the dongle, due to the usb interface
version problem, the computer usb interface version is relatively low, please update
the driver, or change the computer.
4. The front USB port of the desktop computer is not connected
properly. Please use the back usb interface.

Second, the dongle expires


After opening the dongle management, you can view the dongle
information. Please check if the dongle expires. If the dongle has
expired, please contact the after-sales service.

If the dongle has not expired, please check if the computer system
time is correct. If it is not correct, please modify it.

2.8.2 Model Loading Tips

1. If the model has no edge line,a red "x" is displayed in the model list.
2. The position placement overlaps, or over the current blank design
range, and the position is incorrect, and “x” will be prompted.
3. If there is no connecting rod, it will prompt "x".
4. If it is "locked", the teeth has been designed and milled;

2.8.3 Model Editing Error Messages

1. The position causes the model to be incompletely processed,


because it is not guaranteed that the milling tool cannot reach the
area.
2. The connecting rod is too much, the tool cannot go there, causing the unprocessed
area.
3. The connecting rod is too thin, causing breakage during processing.
4. Different materials need to be set to different diameters. Generally, the wax can be
thin. The diameter of the material which is easy to be cracked, such as zirconia, it
needs to be larger. When the Pin is set, the depth can be cut off.

2.8.4 Tool Path Generation Error Message

1. Click to generate the tool path. If there is a model that may be invalid, prompt:

Select "Yes" to continue the toolpath generation, regardless of possible errors.


Select "No" to check and exclude possible placement errors.

2. Click on “Generate tools for all designs”. If there is a teeth without margin line, the
prompt:

If you select “ok”, it will automatically filter the model without the margin line and
continue to calculate the tool path.

2.9 basic information configuration

2.9.1 Basic information

1. Set the export path, the target folder generated by the "tool path".
2. Set the time type: European standard, Asian standard.
3. Set the minimum gap between the blank and the fixture to avoid the machining
area being exceeded.
4. Set the default type of "connecting rod".
5. Set the default milling space.
6. Set the minimum milling range for tilt milling.
7. Set the distance between the connecting rod and the edge line to prevent the
connecting rod from covering the edge line.
8. Set the default cut ratio of the connecting rob.
9. Set the suffix name of the tool path generation file, you can set
your own suffix according to the different needs of the milling
machine.
10. Set the path where the tool path file is saved.
11. Set whether to use time as the folder name to generate the tool
path.
12. Order cleaning, you can choose to clear all orders before a
certain day.

2.Set whether to detect the best insertion direction automatically,
mainly to detect the undercut of concave.
3. Set whether it is compact type for typesetting.
4.Set whether to save design orders automatically
5.Set whether drag and drop constraints are applied to multiple models:
Drag the model from the valid area to the invalid area, returning to the valid area
automatically .
Drag the model from the invalid area to the valid area, succeed.

6.Whether the model is corrected to the best direction automatically.
In the process of loading the model, it will automatically correct the vertical
direction of model placement according to the best direction of the model, and the

Ctrl+MouseWheel (middle button):


Adjust the state in the model attitude
Hold down CTRL and scroll the middle mouse button to rotate the model
Release CTRL to update the model information.
Adjust the state of the connector
Hold down CTRL and scroll the middle mouse button to increase or decrease the link
radius.
Sintered rod condition
Hold down CTRL and scroll the middle mouse button to increase or decrease the
Sintered rod.
Shift+ MouseWheel (middle button):Hold shift and slide the mouse middle key pulley
to tilt the design.
Space key: restore scene view to original view (top view).
Delete:Remove the model, or remove the connector;
The current selection is model, delete the model;Select the connector, delete the
connector.
