5.4 S-COM
On the S-COM, the PC software functions are performed for the user
interface and the user interface software is downloaded via FTP.
If the S-COM connection has been established, the S-COM LED lights
up on the HSA and HAP1 / HAP2 boards. If this LED is flashing, the
connection is being established or a malfunction has occurred. The line
connection is, however, present. If the LED goes out, no data
connection is present. In this case, it must be assumed that there is a
disruption in the line.
Unlike the CAN BUS, there is no defined terminating resistor with this
bus.

IMPORTANT
It is prohibited for any obstacles to be located in the movement range
of the chair during the reference travel.
2.
The reference travel will start only if no safety switch has been
> 2s triggered. This also requires the cuspidor bowl to be retracted.
3. To do this, press the Reference travel key in the service area of the
user interface on the dentist element. >2s
Ä The orange rectangle around the Reference travel key will flash
3. while the chair performs the movements.
IMPORTANT
Do not actuate the chair movement buttons!
Pressing any chair movement button will stop the reference travel,
e.g. the chair movement buttons on the user interface of the dentist
element, the assistant element, the 4-way foot switch, the toggle
switch or the chair buttons on the control panel.
NOTE
Not maneuverable with external voltage
The motor then receives voltage and the position encoder does not.
The position stored in the encoder then no longer agrees with the
actual motor position. This cannot even be corrected via a reference
run with the Sinius (sliding track device).

NOTE
Disconnecting a component from the chair
A large volume of water can escape from the connections when
disconnecting a component.
➢ Empty the rinsing tank (see Emptying the rinsing tank [→ 119])
and the mixing tank (see Mixing tank [→ 120]).
➢ Before disconnecting the dentist element, assistant element, or
water unit from the chair, switch the treatment center off at the
main switch.
NOTE
Modules that carry water and air may still be pressurized after
switching off the treatment center.
➢ The pressure of the lines can be relieved by unscrewing the water
and air filters. The filters can be accessed via the maintenance
flap of the water unit.
NOTE
Prying or twisting cover panels causes damage
Do not open the cover by prying it with or twisting the screwdriver!
This can damage the covers.
➢ Push the screwdriver only in the axial direction and raise the
cover.

● Instruments, including hoses
● Camera (optional)
● NaCl pump (optional)
● Tray (optional)
The support arm brake must be free of pressure so that the brake does
not impede its movement.
1. Switch the treatment center off.
2. Actuate the SPRAYVIT to deaerate the treatment center.
