Chapter 1 Warranty and Service


Standard Service
EDAN provides a one-year-warranty for the warranted products (accessories are included). The
warranty period begins on the date the products are shipped to customers. If a customer promptly
notifies EDAN of customer’s warranty claim hereunder, EDAN will either repair, adjust or
replace (with new or exchange replacement parts) EDAN’s products. EDAN warrants that any
service it provides to customers will be performed by trained individuals in a workmanlike
manner.
Limitation of Warranty
Direct, indirect or final damage and delay caused by the following situations for which EDAN is
not responsible may void the warranty:
 Groupware is dismounted, stretched or redebugged.
 Unauthorized modification or misuse.
 Damage caused by operating beyond the environmental specifications for the medical
product.
 Change or remove original serial number label or Manufacturer symbol.
 Improper use.
Service Procedure
(1) Fill in the Service Claim Form (SCF).
Fill in the SCF with detailed information including: Model Name, Serial Number (SN) and
Problem Phenomena.
EDAN should not have any obligation to take over the case without this information. The
form can be downloaded at: http://www.edan.com.cn or obtained from EDAN’s Service
Department.
(2) Send EDAN the SCF and Select a Solution.
Once the service department receives the fully filled SCF, EDAN’s engineer will offer a
solution in three working days. EDAN will follow out the case based on the two conditions
below:
Within Warranty:
There are two options:
i) After receiving the Return Material Authorization (RMA) form from EDAN service
department, the customer sends EDAN the defective parts and informs about the shipment
tracking number. Then we will dispatch new part(s) to your confirmed address with
confirmed shipping invoice.
ii) The customer signs the Declaration Form and sends it back by email or fax. This form is
legally certificated to make sure the customer or end-user will return the defective parts to
EDAN on time. We will, at this option, dispatch the replacement one(s) with confirmed
shipping invoice.

NOTE:
1 Both Return Material Authorization Form and Declaration Form are offered by
EDAN service department once the SCF is confirmed by service engineer.
2 The customer is responsible for freight & insurance charges when the equipment
is shipped to EDAN for service, including custom charges. EDAN is responsible
for the freight, insurance & custom charges from EDAN to the customer.
Out of Warranty:
After receiving the RMA form from the service department, the customer sends defective
parts to EDAN in advance. We will analyze the problems and discuss with the customer about
either repairing or replacing the part(s). Once the maintenance fee is invoiced and paid, we
will make sure to dispatch good part(s) to the confirmed address.
NOTE:
The customer is responsible for any freight & insurance charge for the returned product.
(3) Obtain the RMA Form.
Before the shipment of the materials, the customer must obtain an RMA form from our
service department, in which the RMA number, description of returning parts and shipping
instructions are included. The RMA number should be indicated on the outside of the
shipping container.
NOTE:
EDAN should not have any obligation to the end-user or customer who returns the goods
without the notification by EDAN’s service department. The sender takes full
responsibility for the accounted fee.
(4) Send the Parts to EDAN.
Follow these recommended instructions:
 Please disassemble the parts with anti-static facility, do not touch the parts with naked hand.
 Please pack the parts safely before return.
 Please put the RMA number on the parcel.
 Please describe the returned parts as ‘sample of *****’ and put the total value on the invoice,
and note on the invoice as ‘sample, no commercial value’.
 Please confirm the invoice with EDAN before shipment.
 Please send back the parts after EDAN’s confirmation.

Chapter 2 Overview
NOTE:
This service manual is written to cover the maximum configuration. Therefore, your
model may not have some of the parameters/modules described, depending on what you
have ordered.

2.1 Introduction
This service manual is a reference for periodic preventive maintenance and corrective service
procedures for the C3, C6, C6 HD video colposcope.
It provides troubleshooting information, assembly procedures, instructions for functional testing
and performance verification. It is intended for use only by technically qualified service
personnel.

WARNING

When performing a service procedure, follow the instructions exactly as presented in this
manual. Failure to do so might damage the device, invalidate the product warranty or
lead to serious personal injury.

2.2 General Information


The design of C3, C6, C6 HD video colposcope (hereinafter called the video colposcope)
complies with the requirements stated in the international safety standard IEC/EN 60601-1 for
medical electrical equipment. It is class I equipment.

2.3 Safety Precautions


WARNING and CAUTION messages must be observed. To avoid the possibility of injury,
observe the following precautions during the operation of the device.
WARNING
1 This device is provided for the use of professionally trained and qualified physicians,
or under guidance of these personnel. Familiarize yourself with the contents of the
user manual before operation.
2 Do not use the device in the presence of flammable anesthetics due to explosion risk.
3 SHOCK HAZARD – In order to protect the patient and the operator, the system case
should be grounded. When connecting or disconnecting the grounding wire, avoid
damaging the equipotential grounding terminal or making it loose.
4 SHOCK HAZARD – Do not attempt to connect or disconnect a power cord with wet
hands. Make sure that your hands are clean and dry before touching a power cord.
5 The power receptacle must be a three-slot grounded outlet.
6 Electromagnetic Interference – Ensure that the environment in which the device is
installed is not subject to any source of strong electromagnetic interference, such as
CT, radio transmitters, mobile phone base stations, etc.
7 Electromagnetic Interference – Do not use mobile phones nearby the device,
otherwise it will interfere with device operation.
8 Do not touch the signal input or output connector and the patient simultaneously.
9 Accessory equipment connected to the analog and digital interfaces must be certified
according to the respective IEC/EN standards (e.g. IEC/EN 60950 for data
processing equipment and IEC/EN 60601-1 for medical equipment). Furthermore all
configurations shall comply with the valid version of the system standard IEC/EN
60601-1. Anybody who connects additional equipment to the signal input connector
or signal output connector to configure a medical system must ensure that the
system complies with the requirements of the valid version of the system standard
IEC/EN 60601-1. If any question, please consult our technical service department or
your local distributor.
10 Do not exceed the maximum permitted load when using multiple portable
socket-outlets to supply the system. You can refer to the label or silk-screen for the
maximum permitted load.
11 The non-medical electrical equipment can be only connected to the separating
transformer as attached. If connected to the wall socket directly, earth leakage
current and enclosure leakage current may exceed the standard limits. The isolation
for non-medical electrical equipment and AC mains may not meet the requirement of
equipment for medical use. The operator or patient may get an electric shock.

WARNING
12 The multiple portable socket-outlet provided with the system shall be only used for
supplying power to equipment which is intended to form part of the system. If the
electrical device that does not belong to the system plug in the socket, the total power
may exceed the maximum load of the separating transformer and cause high
temperature and fire. Enclosure leakage current within the system exceeds the
standard limit, which may lead an electric risk.
13 Multiple portable socket-outlets shall not be placed on the floor. An additional multiple
portable socket-outlet or extension cord shall not be connected to the system.
14 Only accessories supplied by EDAN can be used. Or else, the performance and
electric shock protection cannot be guaranteed, and the patient may be injured.
15 Make sure that all the components and accessories are connected and checked
correctly before powering on.
16 No part of the system is intended to be maintained by the user. Unauthorized
serviceman shall not open the enclosure.
17 Use the accessories as attached. Otherwise, the patient or operator may receive
electrical shock or other injury.
18 The camera light source is very bright. When the camera is on, do not stare at the
light source or aim the light source at the patient's eyes.
19 Only authorized personnel should perform the replacement of button cell.
20 Only rechargeable button cell supplied or recommended by EDAN can be used.
21 The system is not for diagnosis or treatment, it is a non-contact examination device. It
should not touch the patient during examination.

CAUTION
1 The system is designed for continuous operation. Do not water the device.
2 Keep the environment clean. Make the device far from corrosive medicine, dust area,
high-temperature and humid environment. Avoid vibration. Do not move it with the
power cord connected.
3 Do not operate the device if it is damp or wet because of condensation or spills. Avoid
using the device immediately after moving it from a cold environment to a warm,
humid location.
4 Keep the trolley at least 5cm away from the wall for the sake of heat and air
dissipation.
5 Do not sterilize the device or any accessory with autoclave or gas.
6 This system is medical equipment. Unauthorized third party software is forbidden to
be installed on it.
7 This system is built in Win 10 operating system with genuine label on the device. If
the label is lost or damaged, EDAN will not exchange.
8 Do not delete the system files. That's to avoid improper system running.

CAUTION
9 Do not change the time of the system unless necessary, otherwise the appointment
data may be lost.
10 The device and accessories are to be disposed of according to local regulations after
their useful lives. Alternatively, they can be returned to the dealer or the manufacturer
for recycling or proper disposal.

NOTE:
1 Keep the trolley at least 5cm away from the wall for the sake of heat and air
dissipation.
2 Ensure that the device is not subject to any source of strong electromagnetic
interference, such as CT, radio transmitters, mobile phones base stations, etc.
3 Do not install the device in the presence of flammable anesthetics.
4 Keep the environment clean. Avoid vibration. Keep the device far from corrosive
medicine, dust area, high-temperature and humid environment.

3.2 Power Supply Requirements


Make sure the AC power supply complies with the following specifications:
Operating Voltage and Input Voltage: 110V 2A / 220V 1A
Operating Frequency: 50Hz/60Hz

3.3 Safety Requirements


1 SHOCK HAZARD- The power receptacle must be a three-slot grounded outlet. A hospital
grade outlet is required. Never adapt the three-prong plug from the device to fit a two-slot
outlet.
2 SHOCK HAZARD - Do not attempt to connect or disconnect a power cord with wet hands.
Make sure that your hands are clean and dry before touching a power cord.
3 Equipment connected to the device should form an equipotential body to ensure effective
grounding.
4 Do not switch on the system until all the components and accessories have been properly
connected and verified.

3.4 Installing the Video Colposcope


3.4.1 Installing the Workstation

Please refer to the C3, C6, C6 HD Video Colposcope Assembly Instruction for detailed
information.

3.4.2 Installing the Camera

Please refer to the C3, C6, C6 HD Video Colposcope Assembly Instruction for detailed
information.

CAUTION
1. Adjust the camera stand height according to the height of the examination table.
2. Place the device with the casters locked.

3. Make sure that the cable connecting the workstation and camera is fixed tightly.

3.5 Connecting to AC Power


Use the power cable provided with the video colposcope. Plug one end of the power cable to the
power socket of the workstation. Connect the other end to a three-slot grounded outlet special for
hospital usage.

Chapter 4 System Setup


By default, you can use the username sys and password sys to enter the system. The device
administrator can add users, set the password and allocate rights according to the hospital
requirements.
NOTE:
1. Only users having the permission of system setup can open the Setup interface to
perform system setup.
2. Restart the software after system setup is modified.

4.1 Setting Hospital Information


You can set the hospital information on the User Management interface.

1) Click the Setup button to open the Setup interface.


2) On the User Management tab, input the hospital name, its second name, address and
telephone number in the Hospital Info. area. Click the button to import an image
of the hospital logo.
3) Click OK.
4) Exit the system and restart the software immediately.
NOTE:
The hospital logo image should be in .jpg format and cannot exceed 512KB. For clear
display on the report, it is recommended that the hospital logo fill the whole image.

4.2 Adding a User


You can add a user on the User Management tab.

1) Click the Setup button to open the Setup interface.


2) On the User Management tab, input the user name, type and password (Confirm
Password should be the same as Password) in the User Info. area. Click the
button next to Signature to import an image of the user's signature, and select the
authority.
3) Click Add. This user is added to the User List on the right.
4) Click OK.
5) Exit the system and restart the software immediately.

NOTE:
1. The user's signature image should be in .jpg format and cannot exceed 512KB. For
clear display on the report, it is recommended that the user's signature fill the whole
image.
2. The authority that can be selected varies with user types. By default, the
administrator has all the authority. For the chief physician, Setup cannot be selected,

4.3 Selecting Date Format


You can select the date format on the General Setup tab.

1) Click the Setup button to open the Setup interface.


2) On the General Setup tab, choose a date format from the Date Format drop-down
menu.
3) Click OK.
4) Exit the system and restart the software immediately.
NOTE:
If you do not set the date format, the date is shown in the same format as that of the
operating system by default.

4.4 Setting the Video Capture Card


You can set the video capture card on the General Setup tab.

1) Click the Setup button to open the Setup interface.


2) On the General Setup tab, click the Capture Card Setup button. On the displayed page,
set brightness, contrast, hue, or saturation based on actual requirements by inputting a
specific value or dragging the slider. The setting will take effect immediately. (You can
click Restore Factory Config to restore to the default setting.)
3) Click Exit.
NOTE:
You can open the Capture Card Setup page only after the camera is connected to the
workstation and switched on.

4.5 Setting the Foot Switch


The foot switch can be used to capture images only or to freeze and capture images. You can set
its function on the General Setup tab.

1) Click the Setup button to open the Setup interface.

the Foot Pedal Setup area.
3) Click OK.
4) Exit the system and restart the software immediately.

4.6 Setting the Camera Handle Trigger


The camera handle trigger can be used to capture images or to control coordinate display (default
function). You can set its function on the General Setup tab.

1) Click the Setup button to open the Setup interface.


2) On the General Setup tab, select Capture Image or Display Coordinate in the Camera
Handle Trigger Setup area.
3) Click OK.
4) Exit the system and restart the software immediately.

5.1 System Principle
5.1.1 System Working Principle
The video colposcope working principle goes as follows:
 The gathered rays from the annular LED of the camera lighten the cervix.
 The image sensor takes images of the cervical scarfskin.
 The video capture box captures the image signals and transfers them to the host.
 The video colposcope software displays the images taken by the image sensor, and the user
can perform relevant analysis.
 The examination report and operation report can be printed out by using a printer.
5.1.2 System Structure
The video colposcope system mainly consists of the workstation and camera, as shown in figure
5-1 and figure 5-2. The shooting module of the camera gives off gathered rays and takes images.
The workstation is responsible for image signal capturing, displaying and analyzing. In addition,
a printer can be connected to the workstation to print examination or operation reports.

5.2 System Principle Block Diagram


The C3, C6 video colposcope camera is connected to the workstation by a DB9 serial interface
cable which includes the +12V power cord, Y/C video signal cable and communication cable
between the shooting module and workstation. The C6 HD video colposcope camera is connected
to the workstation by a connecting cable with DVI interface which includes the +12V power
cord,HDMI video signal cable and communication cable between the shooting module and

5.2.5 Video Capture Box


For image and video capturing, a USB video capture box is made according to standard protocols
and output data characteristics. It connects the camera and the host. The images taken by the
shooting module is transferred via the USB video capture module in the video capture box and
finally to the host that has the video colposcope software installed for image displaying,
processing and analyzing. The video capture box implements functions such as power supply,
video signals decoding and communication between the camera and the host.

5.2.7 Video Interface Transfer Board


The video interface transfer board mainly implements the output of different formats of videos.
SONY camera outputs LVDS video signal which is transferred to TTL format of video signal
(8bitx2) through THC63LVD104C and then transferred to HDMI format of video signal through
Sil9022A. Its chip Sil9022A has to be configured with MCU (AT91SAM7S64) and set the
working mode of the chip. The principle block diagram is shown in the figure below.

Chapter 6 Tests and Maintenance


6.1 Functional Checks
A complete functional check should be performed if the device is suspected of malfunction or
each time after service. It is unnecessary to open the device enclosure for functional checks.

WARNING
Qualified service personnel should perform complete functional checks after the device is
installed to ensure proper running of the device.

6.1.1 Workstation Switching on Check

Press the power button on the left side of the trolley to switch on the system, the indicator lights
up in green.
Press the power button on the upper tray of the trolley. Check whether the host indicator is turned
on, whether the memory bar gives out start sound, whether the screen displays properly and
whether the keyboard indicator is turned on.
If there is any problem, see section 8.1 Trouble with Starting Up.

6.1.2 Monitor Check

Check whether any picture or character is missing on the screen, whether there is any especially
bright or dark point and whether the screen displays pictures normally.
Check whether the monitor resolution is set correctly. If not, set the resolution according to the
monitor setting guidance.
If there is any problem, see section 8.2 Trouble with Monitor Display.

6.1.3 Workstation Keys Check

Press the character or number keys on the keyboard randomly. Check whether they are displayed
correctly on the screen.
If there is any problem, see section 8.10 Trouble with Keyboard Input.

6.1.4 Printer Check

(This check is necessary only when a printer is connected to the system.)


Start the video colposcope workstation software. Enter the Report interface and set the printer.
Then press the Print button. Check whether the printer starts printing normally.
If there is any problem, see section 8.7 Trouble with Printing.

6.1.5 Monitor Supporter Check

Tilt the monitor to the left, right, up or down. Check whether the adjustment is normal.
If there is any problem, see section 8.2 Trouble with Monitor Display.

Caution
When tilting the monitor, be careful not to jam your hands between the monitor supporter
and the monitor.

6.1.6 Camera Switching on Check

Press the camera power button. The auto focus indicator starts to blink. The camera completes
starting after the auto focus indicator stops blinking. The power indicator is on.

6.1.7 Camera and Workstation Communication Check

Start the video colposcope workstation software and check whether you can enter the Examine
interface. If you can enter the interface successfully, it indicates that the communication is
normal.
If there is any problem, see section 8.5 Access to Video Colposcope Software with Error
Reporting.

6.1.8 Camera Keys Check

Press each key on the camera to check whether they work normally.
 Press the + key or – key to check whether the camera zooms in or zooms out the image.
 Press the WHITE key or GREEN key to check whether the image displays properly.
 Press the TIME key to check whether timekeeping is enabled with the screen showing a time
mark.
 Press the FREEZE key to check whether the image is frozen.
 Press the camera handle trigger to check whether the screen displays a coordinate (default
function).

6.2 Performance Tests


The performance test should be carried out by qualified service personnel if performance of the
device is suspected.
6.2.1 Color Temperature and Illumination Test
This test checks the performance of the LED aperture.
Required Tools: illumination meter (CL-200A) and two black boxes for color temperature

measurement (one with a length of 200mm and the other with a length of 300mm)
1) Install the aperture on the camera. Switch on the camera to make the aperture start working.
2) Put the camera against the head surface of the two black boxes respectively. Aim the light
source center at the center hole among the 5 holes of the black box.
3) Switch on the CL-200A, connect it to the computer, and set the CL-S10 software. Select
Ev[lx] for illumination, and select x and y for chroma. You can choose to test it every second
and 10 times in total. The data selected is exported to the Excel in the computer.
4) Put the CL-200A at the 5 measurement points on the rear surface of the black box
respectively. Click on the start button of the CL-S10 software to record the color temperature
values and light intensity.
5) Check the color temperature values and light intensity. The color temperature should be in
the range of 3200K-7000K.The light intensity for C3 should be equal to or higher than
1600Lx , the light intensity for C6 should be equal to or higher than 2500Lx and the light
intensity for C6 HD should be equal to or higher than 3000Lx.
If the results meet the requirements above, the test is passed. Otherwise, it fails.
6.2.2 Working Distance Test
This test checks whether the image is clear in the working distance.
Required Tools: ruler and reference object (an object with image)

1) Switch on the camera.


2) Put the reference object in front of the camera for observation, and adjust the camera
magnification to 6x.
3) After the image on the reference object is clearly observed, move the reference object
forward and backward. Measure the distance between the camera and reference object when
the image is clear. When the image is clear, the least distance should be no more than 200mm,
and the most distance should exceed 300mm.
If the results meet the requirements above, the test is passed. Otherwise, it fails.

6.3 Safety Tests


Safety tests should be performed by qualified personnel every 6 to 12 months and each time after
service.
The safety tests described here are not a substitute for local safety testing where it is required for
an installation or a service event. Additional test may be required by your local standards and
regulations.
When performing a safety test, you must use a standard safety analyzer such as Fluke 601Pro
series safety analyzer or the equivalent. Perform the test according to your local regulations, for
example, in Europe according to IEC/EN60601-1. For the test setup, please refer to the
Instructions for Use of the test equipment used.
You are recommended to record the result of the safety test.

2 With devices that are connected to other devices by means of a data cable, such a
connection must be disconnected prior to performing the electrical safety test, in

6.3.1 Protective Earth Resistance

NOTE:
The circuit diagram is based on the Fluke 601Pro series safety analyzer.
This test measures the impendence between Protective Earth (PE) terminal and exposed metal
parts of the Device Under Test (DUT) which is protectively earthed. A current of 25A is passed
within 5s to 10s through the protective terminal and each accessible metal part which is
protectively earthed.
Allowable value: without mains cable, maximum impendence: 100 mOhms
(IEC 60601-1)

and parts of the system within the patient environment. The test is performed with normal and
reverse mains supply polarity using S2 in normal condition and single fault condition.
Normal condition (NC): S1, S3, S5 closed, S2, S4 variable.
Single fault condition (SFC): S1, S3 open (one for each time), S5 closed, S2, S4 variable.

6.4 Maintenance
WARNING
Please arrange regular and correct maintenance for the device, or it may affect the
patient examination.
Before each use, perform the following inspections:
 Check the device and accessories for any visible evidence of damage.
 Check the enclosure and external cables for splits, cracks or signs of twisting.
If any damage is detected, stop using the device. Replace the damage part(s) or contact the
qualified service personnel for service before reusing it.

6.4.1 Maintenance of the Workstation

 The fan in the workstation helps heat dissipation and the heat emission hole is on the back of
the trolley. Keep the trolley at least 5cm away from the wall for the sake of heat and air
dissipation.
 To avoid the potential accidence resulted from unexpected power lost or unsteady power
supply, it is recommended to provide the system with a USP (Uninterrupted Power Supply).
 This system is medical equipment. To protect the system from virus or crash, unauthorized
third-party software should not be installed.
 To ensure normal running of the operating system and the software, do not delete or modify
any file on the hard disk.

6.4.2 Maintenance of the Camera

 When the camera is not in use, turn off the power, close the camera cover and put on the
dustproof cover to avoid dust pollution.
 Do not touch the lens with your fingers. The grease on the fingers may damage the plating film
on the lens, and the fingerprint may affect the image quality as well.
 Keep the camera dry, avoid exposing it to extreme temperature or humidity, and protect it from
direct sunshine.

Chapter 7 Camera Adjustment


NOTE:
All the values have been set for the camera before delivery. Do not randomly adjust the
white balance values for the camera. If you find that the image color has changed, you
can adjust the auto white light white balance value to restore the image color to normal.
7.1 Setting Auto White Light White Balance
In AF (auto focus), standard white light mode, press and hold the WHITE and DISPLAY/F-
keys. Within 6 seconds, the camera switches to auto white light white balance mode, and the
screen displays "W ATW R:XX B:XX" (XX indicate the specific R value and B value).
The R value and B value are adjusted automatically. After the values are no longer changed, press
the DISPLAY/F- key to save the values and exit auto white light white balance mode, or press
the F+ key to cancel the values and exit auto white light white balance mode. When you save the
values, the AF indicator and MF (manual focus) indicator will blink at the same time.
To set auto white light white balance, please use a standard white paper card (a white printing
paper is OK) as the reference object and put it at a distance of 250mm from the camera.

7.2 Setting Manual White Light White Balance


In AF, standard white light mode, press and hold the WHITE and F+ keys. Within 6 seconds, the
camera switches to manual white light white balance mode, and the screen displays "VER MOD
R:XX B:XX " (VER indicates the firmware software version, MOD indicates the camera model,
and XX indicate the specific R value and B value).
Press and hold the WHITE key while pressing the + key to increase the R value or the – key to
decrease the R value.
Press and hold the GREEN key while pressing the + key to increase the B value or the – key to
decrease the B value.
After the R value and B value are set to the desired values, press the DISPLAY/F- key to save
the values and exit manual white light white balance mode, or press the F+ key to cancel the
values and exit manual white light white balance mode. When you save the values, the AF
indicator and MF indicator will blink at the same time.

7.3 Setting Manual Green Light White Balance


In AF, green filter G1 mode, press and hold the GREEN and F+ keys. Within 6 seconds, the
camera switches to manual green light white balance mode, and the screen displays "VER MOD
R:XX B:XX " (VER indicates the firmware software version, MOD indicates the camera model,
and XX indicate the specific R value and B value).
Press and hold the WHITE key while pressing the + key to increase the R value or the – key to
decrease the R value.
Press and hold the GREEN key while pressing the + key to increase the B value or the – key to
decrease the B value.
After the R value and B value are set to the desired values, press the DISPLAY/F- key to save
the values and exit manual green light white balance mode, or press the F+ key to cancel the
values and exit manual green light white balance mode. When you save the values, the AF
indicator and MF indicator will blink at the same time.

7.4 Adjusting the Light Source Brightness


In AF mode, press and hold the DISPLAY/F- and TIME keys. Within 6 seconds, the camera
switches to light source brightness setting mode, and the screen displays "LIGHT XX" (XX
indicates the light source brightness value).
The light source brightness is 50 by default, with a range of 0-95. Press the + key to increase the
light source brightness, or press the – key to decrease the light source brightness. After the light
source brightness is set to a desired value, press the DISPLAY/F- key to save the value and exit
the setting mode, or press the F+ key to cancel the value and exit the setting mode. When you
save the value, the AF indicator and MF indicator will blink at the same time.

7.5 Restoring to Default Setting


Switch off the camera. While pressing and holding the FREEZE key, press the camera power
switch. The AF indicator and MF indicator will blink at the same time. Press and hold the
FREEZE key until the screen displays "PLEASE RESTART". Then press the camera power
switch to turn off the camera, and press it again to turn on the camera. The default setting is
restored.

 Replacing the fuse for the AC power input


The fuse compartment is located on the back of the trolley under the power socket, in which two
fuses are installed. Specifications of the fuses are as follows:

If a fuse is blown, perform the following steps to replace it:
1) Turn off the system power by pressing the power switch on the left panel of the trolley.
2) Move the trolley to an open location with the back facing out. Pull up the cable clip and
then remove the power cable.
3) Use a screw driver or a pair of pliers to prize the fuse compartment outwards open.

5) Take the fuse out and replace it with a new one that is supplied by the manufacturer or of

2) Switch on the video colposcope system and the camera.
3) Measure the voltage to earth of the pins listed below with a multimeter.

box (for the HD communication transfer board) according to the steps described in section
10.6.4.
2) Connect the power adapter, and connect the USB cable to the computer.
3) Measure the voltage to earth of the pins listed below with a multimeter.

4) The measurement precision is all ±5%. It is suggested that the HD communication transfer

2) Unplug the cable plug from the ATX1 socket in the workstation main board.
3) Switch on the AC power button of the video colposcope system.
4) Measure the voltage to earth of the pins listed below with a multimeter.
5) All the measuring precision is ±5%. It is suggested that the power module should be replaced
if the result exceeds the reference range while the input power is normal.

10.2 Replacing Fuses


To replace a blown fuse, perform the following steps:
1) Switch off the workstation and remove the power cord.
2) Lock the four trolley casters.
3) Pull out the fuse compartment under the power socket.

10.4.2 Replacing the Hard Disk
To remove the hard disk, perform the following steps:
1) Separate the upper cover and the lower cover.
2) Disconnect all the cables from the hard disk.
3) Remove the 4 screws and red insulating gaskets securing the hard disk, and remove the 6
screws on the fixing frame. You can now take out the hard disk for replacement.

10.4.3 Replacing the ATX Power Board
To remove the ATX power board, perform the following steps:

2) Disconnect all the output cables from the ATX power.

10.7.1 Replacing the Host AC Mains Interface Board
To remove the host AC mains interface board, perform the following steps:
1) Remove the 4 screws on the separating transformer box baffle.

3) Disconnect all the cables from the host AC mains interface board.

10.8.1 Replacing the Key Board and Control Board


To remove the key board and control board, perform the following steps:
1) Remove the 4 screws on the bottom of the holder.
2) Remove the 6 screws securing the left and right covers.
3) Remove the front and rear covers, and take out the annular LED fixing frame.
4) Disconnect all the cables from the key board and control board.
5) Remove the 4 screws, 2 bolts and 2 nuts on the key board and control board.

10.8.3 Replacing the Closep-up Lens
To remove the close-up lens, perform the following steps:
1) Disassemble the SONY integrated color shooting module.
2) Remove the close-up lens and cover it with the foamy sponge to avoid scratching.

Install the close-up lens in a reverse procedure. When you fasten the close-up lens, make sure that
threads fit well.

10.9 Replacing the Camera-Workstation Connecting Cable


To remove the camera-workstation connecting cable, perform the following steps:
1) Unbolt the screw securing the wire fixing buckle and the 2 screws securing the tension disc to
remove the wire fixing buckle and the tension disc.
2) Unbolt the screw securing the cable buckle flake on the chassis and to remove the flake.
3) Remove the lifting limit tube from the stand post, and drag out the camera-workstation
connecting cable.
