III. System overview
3.1 Introduction
The HQ-DY Dry Imagers are thermo-sensitive image processors used for copying
image data in DICOM format transferred via networks.
3.2 Application
Medical dry thermo-sensitive films contain imaging medias of the latest
technology. These imaging medias perfectly match with CT (Computer Tomography),
MRI (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Imaging), digital X-ray imaging (DR and CR),
fluoroscopy, image storing and communication systems, nuclear medicine, mobile X-
ray imaging, dentistry, and other modalities. Imaging medias generate grayscale films
of high diagnostic quality through direct dry thermo-sensitive imaging technology.

V. Notices for installation and use
Warning
This imager may generate electromagnetic waves during installation and trial.
Installation and trial must be performed by qualified service personnel to avoid
interference caused by radio communication or other electronic devices.
5.1 Installation
Avoid placing the imager in following environments:
• Mechanical shock
• High humidity
• Direct or excessive sunlight
• Extreme-high or extreme-low temperature
5.2 Safe use
• Do not place or drop heavy objects on the power cable as it will damage the
cable
• Disconnect AC power cable when not in use for a long time
• Hold the plug and do not pull the wires when disconnecting the AC power cable.
• Do not disassemble the imager
• Do not splash water or other liquids on the imager, and do not let combustibles
or metal enter the case
• The imager might break down when foreign matters enter the case during use,
causing fire or electric shock
• If the imager breaks down or foreign matters enter the case, please shut the
power off immediately and contact the dealer
5.3 Condensation
• If ambient temperature of the imager changes drastically, for example, the
imager is moved to a hot or heated room, the hot and damp air will condense in the
imager and might cause malfunction. The imager might break down if you continue to
use it. When there is condensation, you should shut the power off immediately and
remove the condensation.
• If the ambient temperature changes drastically, condensation might appear on
films in the cartridge. This might cause the imager to break down. If you continue to
use the imager, output films might contain white spots.
• You can preserve the unused films by packing them in original package for a
couple of hours. This action will prevent condensation on the films once opened.
5.4 Cleaning of the case
Moist a piece soft cloth with neutral detergent to clean the case, panels and control
buttons. Do not use any type of solvents that may damage the surface coatings, such as
alcohol or gasoline solvents.
5.5 Caution
Before cleaning the case, please shut the power off.
18
5.6 Safety warnings
Before using the imager, please read this operation manual.
Warning
Do not open the protective cover of the imager. The interior of imager contains
drive parts and motors, and accidental contact may cause injuries.
Warning
This system contains precise thermal elements, power supply and mechanical
elements. Do not try to perform internal adjustments, and if necessary, please contact
qualified technical service personnel.
Warning
Do not expose this imager to combustibles.
Warning
This imager contains high-precision thermal elements. Please try to avoid shocks.,
and avoid contact with the rack of the imager during printing, otherwise the image
quality may be compromised.
Warning
Do not place any object on top of the imager, as that may damage parts of the
imager. In addition, to avoid mechanical damage, do not splash water or other liquids
on the imager.
Warning
Please verify that the earth line is well connected. For the power cable, please use
a closed 3P power plug and insert the power cable into the 3P socket of the imager. Do
not use a 2P or 3P connector.
Warning
The imager should be lifted by at least two people during handling and moving.
Warning
When using films that are not recommended or specified, image quality is not
guaranteed.

VII. Servicing of imager
7.1 General cleaning
In general, the print head should be cleaned after printing 100-200 films. Use non-
woven fabric dipped in water or absolute alcohol, wipe the print head gently from left
to right for a couple of times until the surface of the test sample image printed shows no
scratches. Please note that the non-woven fabric must be folded at least 3 times to
prevent the edge of the radiator of print head from cutting your hand.
7.2 Grinding with sand paper
If the print head is still dirty after initial cleaning, please clean it with ultrafine
sand paper (above 4000 meshes). Use the sand paper enveloped by thick paper to gently
rub the surface of the print head from left to right, rub it twice and wipe the print head
with non-woven fabric.
7.3 Other servicing
Use non-woven fabric dipped in water or absolute alcohol to wipe the white print
roller and film-pressing roller shown in the pictures below:
