Question 1: Interactive business activities using ICT can be done in two ways, pull
marketing and push marketing. if you want to build a business which one do you prefer
push or pull marketing, because both have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Answer: It depends on what business you choose. Push promotional strategies to work well for
lower cost items or items where customers may make a decision on the spot. New businesses use
push strategies to develop retail markets for their products and to generate exposure. Once a
product is already in stores, a pull strategy creates additional demand for the product. Pull
strategies work well with highly visible brands, or where there is good brand awareness. This is
usually developed through advertising. Push marketing/ direct marketing is a strategy focused on
“pushing” products to a specific audience. The goal is to bring what we offer to customers in our
marketing. Social media channels are considered to be “push” sources because they’re great for
launching new or niche products. To decide which method best fits the business, we need to
think about how we want to approach consumers. If we are trying to get the word out about our
business (introducing our company), a push will most likely be the way to go. If we’re a
marketer building brand buzz in our market — perhaps about a specific product or service —
pull would probably be best. For those who haven’t heard of our company, push marketing is
needed. For those a little further along in our buyer’s journey, we can pull them in. Therefore, if
we are a new company with minimal visibility or an established company with a new product
offering, a push marketing strategy might be best. Once users have identified a need, we will
implement pull marketing. Therefore, we will choose push marketing as based on the scenario of
the question, our business is new (planning to be established/ built).

Question 2:
As we know ICT can be a resource for companies, but we also need to know that every
company also has limitations in its implementation or realization. According to your group,
how do you choose an IS / IT that is suitable and effective for company?

Answer:

To choose an IS/ IT that is suitable for our company, we need to arrange the
strategic planning smartly and optimally. The strategic planning of IS/ IT will determine the
successfulness of the ICT implementation of the company because in the strategic planning
there is deep analysis of the company such as the strengths, weaknesses, threats, and
opportunities. By following the guideline of the strategies generated, like the environment
both internally and externally can be analyzed, as well as the product life cycle analysis (so
that the company in which position they are actually in), it actually can identify suitable IS/
IT required for their company. In addition, the company objective needs to be considered so
that suitable IS/ IT can be applied in accomplishing the objective. Creating effective ICT
governance is also needed to identify which suitable IS/ IT for the company. Considering risk
as well as measuring IT performance is also required because the suitable IS/ IT should
provide optimum outcomes

Question: Why can an IT governance archetype be good for one type of IS decision but not
for another?

Answer: The main reason why ICT governance can be good for one type of IS decision but not
for another is because it cannot perform basic business activities such as selling, marketing,
manufacturing and accounting. As such, it cannot design business strategies that are the core
necessities of any business. There are different types of governance archetype which include
business monarchy, IT monarchy, federal, IT duopoly, feudal and Anarchy. The ICT governance
archetype is dependent upon the corporate structure and focus. The most visible ICT governance
mechanisms are the organizational committees and roles that allocate decision making
responsibilities according to indented archetypes.
The different archetypes rely on different structures i.e. anarchy requires no-decision
making structure, feudal requires local decision making, monarchy duopoly and federal
arrangements will require representation in order to make decisions. Be Information Systems
Steering Committees are broken up so that IT priorities are decided at the highest business level,
not solely by IT. This allows each division to individualize decisions based on productivity,
costs, and managerial needs. IS does not perform core business functions like selling,
manufacturing or accounting so it does not set business strategies. Good IT governance provides
a structure that guides decision-making.
