No Bird Fouls its Own Nest “A man’s valuable wealth is God-gifted

nature; all other riches are nothing before it.” It is said that no bird ever
fouls its own nest. But it’s not true in the case of a man who has
destroyed his only home through his deleterious deeds just for some
petty gains. Our Earth is our nest, not just our homes build with brick
walls. We all have been taught the importance of cleanliness, that
cleanliness is next to Godliness. But what many fail to understand is
that cleanliness is not just cleaning our homes or keeping ourselves
clean, it is about the way of living in and around with a neat and clean
environment. Environmental cleanliness has often been neglected. We
have to keep our societies, streets, communities, gardens, etc clean too.
Throwing away heaps of garbage, plastic bags, plastic bottles, plastic
cans on the land and streets that we walk by pretty often, not just
produces and releases foul smell into the air, it is also an eye-sore! With
lands getting filled with waste, it also paves the way to health issues
and provides a breeding ground for insects. Wastes piling on the land
has resulted in the seeping of toxins into the ground and polluting the
underground water. The rain washes off the wastes and toxins and

Clean India. The cleanliness campaign was done on a national level,

covering all the towns, rural and urban areas. It served as a great
initiative in creating awareness and promoting the importance of
cleanliness among people. It aims to build sanitary facilities, especially
in rural areas as open defecation has been observed as one of the most
common problems. The campaign also focused on improving drainage
facilities, providing handpumps, and organizing awareness programs to
educate people on health and cleanliness and how they are related.
India is in dire need of cleanliness initiatives like this to eradicate
dirtiness and developing the overall health and well-being of its citizens.
Therefore, it was a great initiative from the government to make India
cleaner. We all too can work together to make India cleaner and
greener. By making small initiatives like mindfully disposing of the
wastes, self-volunteering to clean the streets can make a big difference.
If all the citizens could come together and participate, India will soon
flourish and we can be those birds that don’t foul their own nests.
