 Behaviorist Theory
Analyses on human behavior in observable stimulus-response interaction.
Indicates that stimulus and response work together. (stimulus-response psychology)
Learning process of students depends on the social surroundings.

 Cognitivism
Alternate theory for the behaviorist approach.
Claimed that prior knowledge and mental processes plays a bigger role than stimuli in
orienting behavior and response.
The primary emphasize is placed on how knowledge is acquired, processed, stored,
retrieved, and activated by learners during different phases of learning process.
 Constructivism
A theory that states people construct their own understanding and knowledge of the
world through experiencing things and reflecting on those experiences.
Teacher taps into and triggers the curiosity of students about the world and how things
work in it.
Teachers help students construct knowledge by asking questions.
 Connectivism
A learning theory for digital age.
Students can learn anywhere, anytime, anything.
Exploring knowledge as ones wish; advent use of technology, learning without
boundary.
The use of non-human appliances, continuous learning.
Persisting change in human performance.
 Sociocultural Theory
Learning by interacting with someone who has better knowledge.
A new discovery or changes that happens to an individual by interacting with people
of more knowledge.
Teachers usually scaffold students process of assisting, determine the direction of
learning and teaching.
