A student is interested to find out whether the concentration of nitrates in fertilizer will affect the height

of plants.

He measured concentrated fertilizer solution using a beaker and then diluted it using tap water into 2%,
4% and 6%. The student then use a water sprayer to spray the fertilizer onto the plants everyday. The
height of the plants was measured using a ruler after one week. The raw data of the experiment is
shown as below:

Concentration of nitrates in fertilizer (%) Height of plants (cm)

2 10.5, 13, 9
4 15.5, 14.2, 16
6 18.2, 19.1, 21.1

Your task:

1) Identify the variables and construct a hypothesis for this experiment

2) Construct a proper table to tabulate your data
3) Plot a graph using the data
4) Identify two possible weaknesses in this experiment and write up a paragraph with the following
sequence (Weakness → Errors caused by this weakness → Consequences → Improvement)
