activities performed on a bar horizontallly
attached to two upright poles of the same
height.”
“What are the Safety Measures?” “The Safety Measure are:
1. Wear the pescribed uniform with
shoes.
2. Do warm-up and stretching exercise
before the activity.
3. Apply poder chalk on your hands to
reduce friction.
4. Grip the bar firmly to avoid accidents.
5.Bind ate the knees, hip, and ankles to
absorb the shock.
6. Always perform exercises with a
spotter.”

“There are two common kind of grips: the
over grip which is used in mioving
backward and the under grip which used
in moving forward.”
“The following are descriptions of the
different grips, hangs and dismounts our
focus is hanging and dismounting only.”
“Over Grip”
“Hanging from the bar, place the thumb
underneath and the finger on top. You
should be able to see your knuckles.”

“Under Grip: Grasp the bar with fingers
and thumb pointing towars you.”
“#3 Mixed Grip”
“One hand hold the bar with the over grip,
the other with the under grip.”

“Hang with the arms spread wide and
your back to the bar. Your knuckles
should be on top of the bar and your
“Long Hang or Pencil Hang: Jump to the thumbs under.”

the floor to a safe landing. Finish with

“Tucked Position: Start in long hang
position. Draw knees up to your chest as
you lean backward and hold this
positions. Spotter under the shoulder with
the other hand.”

“#8 Picked Position: Start in long hang
position. Draw legs up straight so that
they finished parallel to the floor. Try your
legs close to your face and hold them
straight with toes pointed.”
“And the last.”
“Dismounts: Jump to a long hang. Swing,
then gradually come to a still hang, releas
the bar and drop gently to a safe landing
on the mat.”
“Hanging and swinging, the first activity is
the chin-up. What is Chin-up?” “Stand and reach up to grasp the bar with
the under grip. Pull up to raise the chin
over the bar for a five second count.”
“Very good!”
“Next is the Swing and Arch: Grasp the
bar with the over grip while your feet are
still on the floor. Push off with one foot as
you throw the other forward and upward.
Swing under the bar and at the same
time, pull in with the arms and throw your
head back. Stretch your body to a slightly
arched position with tummy forward.
Dismount by releasing the bar at the
height of the forward swing at a safe
landing.”

“One Hand Hang: Hang by your left hand
using the over grip. Swing forward and
backward. Slap the knee with the other
hand at the height of the swing Dismount
and repeat using the right hand.”

“And the last skin the Cat: Hand from the
bar using the over grip. Kick feet up
bringing knees to chest. Bring feet up
between your arms. Slowly lower your
feet as far as possible. Release the bar
and dismount to floor.”
E. Generalization

“Horizontal Bar Exercise are gymnastic
activitieas performed on a bar horizontally
attached two upright poles of the same
height. The two common kind of grip are
the over grip and the under grip. The 7
different grips: Mixed, Cross, Eagle, Long
Hang, Tucked Position, Picked Position
and Dismount. The activities of hanging
and swinging are Chin-up, Swing, and
Arch, One hand hang and Skin the Cat.”
